Was SCTV writer Mike Short the brother or cousin of Martin Short?

Seems that writer Paul Flaherty was Joe Flaherty's younger brother,
if this newsgroup was to be believed back in 2003.

Mike Short is Martin's younger brother. Ironic, IMO, considering Mike Short
is like 6'5" and Martin is like 4'2".
