A new rules set always results in questions about how the finer points of the game should work so Lessons From The Front is the place to go to find answers to some of the harder questions.
These are living documents that we will update as often as possible but please bear in mind that whilst we listen to feedback in the forums (and other places) we need to take a considered approach before implementing any changes.

BattleForce is the BatteTech game of lightning-fast combat. These rules ramp up standard-style game play to a fast-playing system that retains the feel of BattleTech. While the full rules are contained in Interstellar Operations: BattleForce, these quick-start rules contain everything needed to play a BattleForce game, including maps and counters.
The existing record sheets for the Long Tom Mobile Artillery unit are invalid under the current ruleset. As such, we are making corrected record sheets available for download so that players can use the Long Tom in official play.
The rules do a very good job of providing a framework to use your toys with but the minis make it that much better. Combine the minis with the rules and you have a recipe for a fun minis game with miniatures just made for zapping one another.

Free miniature wargaming rules are not rare, and there are several websites that host multitudes of such downloads. However, these are usually gamers with some desktop publishing experience penning their own personal dream set of rules for their own personal dream period of history. But the big guys also play in this arena, normally because they are releasing a new version of said rules and want to pique your interest, have a line of related miniatures they want you to buy or they are simply good folks who want to give back to the hobby.
Counterblast is a skirmish-level miniatures battle game in an atomic raypunk setting. Players control crews of pulp sci-fi heroes plying the spaceways in search of uncharted worlds, alien artifacts, new territory for colonization, and essential deposits of ultonium. In this book you will find all of the information you need to play the game, including rules for how to create your crew, how to set up a table, and how to battle for control of the Outer Reaches and beyond!
Mantic Games is offering a free digital edition of Project Pandora: Grim Cargo for the Star Sage Core game (you will need a copy of Star Saga and additional miniatures to play, you can grab a free copy of the Star Saga rules right here).
