We loved Mary Charlotte's Idella character. Just writing lines for her
would convulse us in laughter because we knew exactly how it would
sound when she spoke them. She was great in 2009 and The Making of
2009 and the Melonville Calendars.
As it turned out, Mary Charlotte, who was never convinced that acting
was her true calling, left show biz entirely and is now an ordained
minister in Edmonton, Alberta. A calling, some say, higher than SCTV.

Idella Voudry is one of my favorite characters. I'm hoping one day you
guys will do a reunion show and can convice Mary Charlotte to reprise
the character.

Oh, yes! St. Luke the Evangelist in Edmonton. Well, I hope she made some
money when she was in show business, because Anglican ministers are not
richly paid.

Wow! Somehow, I can see her as a minister. I especially liked her interplay
with Woody Tobias, Jr in "The Making Of..." - Idella as demanding drama
diva ("I'm only doing this once, you know , so if you know what's good for
you, ya ugly chimp...") and Woody as as pleading, placating director
("Idella, darling") ...when he falls off of the scaffolding and his eyes
uncross (there may be other times when that happens, but it's the only one I
can recall) - then he shakes it off and his eyes go back to 'normal'...

By 'unplayable' I mean that they are so dirt-covered that I am afraid to put
them in a VCR for fear of destroying the machine.

Thanks!!

I have never "belly laughed" harder than watching "2009....... TO JUPITER AND BEYOND!!!!!" with my 11 year old son. SO brilliant. He understands some of the characters / references / parodies.

There is no compliment higher that I can give than saying "thank you for that!".
Such a brilliant piece of work by all involved.

When an 11 year old is belly-laughing at "this old piece of coal", then you know its a brilliant GEM!

Thank you.
