I've only seen the syndicated episodes so obviously I could not comment on the
stuff that got axed. But some people here can. Is there anything that you loved
so much that you got peeved that it was cut in the syndicated run?

The original openings, especially the Season 2 one with the Hawaiian-shirted
John Candy throwing the TV out the high-rise window...this opening is what all
the TV-throwing gags in subsequent years were based on. Thanks to a couple
collectors, I do have this on tape now...

Not a bit, but the entire "Cisco Kid" episode, apparently not aired
since 1981. All I've got is the soundtrack. I remember the
extraordinary care that was taken to match the new dialogue to the lip
movements of the actors in the original film.

Was "The Nobel" aired in syndication? This is a good thread,
as I always thought there should be
a rarities tape put together

This man...as a collector, in all seriousness...there is no one, and I mean no
one, who has given more of himself and his video collection to help other less
fortunate souls, who don't have all the rare shows he has...and I worship the
ground that he walks on!

Now THAT is a capital idea sir. I for one would greatly value such a tape.

May I just say something here, for a moment? I don't want to bring the NG
down-tempo, but I think that you all should know that MarkShark here, as a
humanitarian, as a giving, nurturing, human-type person...is just the best.
A-number one. The man makes me proud to be an American, with other American-type
humans who exemplify this sort of kind, generous, democratic spirit that has made
our nation so great.

And I mean that, sincerely.

Most of us in this newsgroup have most of the missing material, I believe.
We should at least first put together a list of what the tape should be,
then we can find out who has what, and when that great guy gets the
tape made, he can send it out!

All right team!

(Rustyness aside, then we'll all find out what we have and compile
it...)(in secret, not out in the open).

I'd rather see a collection of EVERYTHING..."missing" or not missing.

Most of the Fishin' Musician bits (except for the Tubes). The following
are missing in syndication:

Plasmatics (with "Doom Song")
Third World (with "Try Jah Love")
Carl Perkins
Jimmy Buffett (with "Slow Boat To China")
Joe Walsh (with "I Can Play That Rock & Roll")

The complete version of Ian Thomas' "Pilot" (a verse was taken out of the
syndie).

The complete Farm Film Celebrity Blow-up with Brooke Shields & Boomtown
Rats.

Would stuff taken out/edited only for the new syndication batch count? I
haven't seen Stairways to Heaven in 6 years.

Actually I wouldn't mind seeing the video by the Plastics again. And

You misunderstand.

I don't HAVE The Cisco Kid. That's why I said, don't say it.
Have The Plastics video.
No Vikings and Beekeepers. Only saw it once when it was first show back in
the 70s.

I loved the voiceover at the end of the Merv Griffith Show that cited sponsors:
"And Riunite - it's the drink Otis drinks!"
