I'm not quite sure of the name of the show but Eugene Levy was the host of
it,Marty Short played Lawrence Orvok.Joe Flarety and Andrea Martin were
also in their. It didn't seem to matter how simple the questions were the
game would always end up in a tie 0 to 0. I can remember that by the end of
the game Eugene was ready to quit. I think it was called Dim Wits.

Andrea's character was Blanche Rae Kellogg. A great name that I once
signed in a hotel register....

Okay, there's only going to be about a hundred responses to this one,
so I'll start it off. The show was Half-Wits, and there were 3
installments of it. Eugene Levy played Alex Trebel, John Candy was
Darren Peele (I sort ball bearings for a living..), Joe Flaherty was
Arthur Andrew Liggit (What do they call those things? You know those
things?), Andrea Martin was Blanche Rae Kellogg (Blanche, we understand
you recently got married. That is correct Alex. Who's the lucky guy?
My husband.), Martin Short was Lawrence Orbach (I'm having some degree
of difficulty getting through high school) and there was the guy who
played Happy Marsden as Wesley Wilkes (Wesley, its nice to see you
again. Really??). Not all of these appeared on the same show, as most
probably know. By the way, what was the name of the guy who played
Happy Marsden et al.?

Yes, yes, yes! He was really funny, too. He strikes me as a Bill
Murray type, a guy who doesn't change much from character to character,
but is very naturally funny. I'm surprised that Hemphill never did
really hit it big after SCTV reached the end of its tether.

There was some fairly lame I think movie once with Joe Flaherty as a
narrator type who appears between sketches; one episode of it was
written by Catherine O'Hara, was pretty funny, and Hemphill was
especially funny in it. Does anyone remember the name of what I'm
talking about? I only remember a few scenes from it.

That's "The Half Wits", with John Candy as Darren Peel, Andrea Martin as
Blanche Rae Kellogg, Joe Flaherty as Arthur Andrew Liggett, and Martin
Short as Lawrence Ohrbach.

Even though the categories were blatantly simple -- "Articles of Clothing
Found in a Bedroom" -- the contestants couldn't even get close to a correct
answer. Levy finally blew his cool and demanded they each pick a number
between one and ten, and he would declare the winner. They all chose 12.

Classic sketch!

This bit is from "Night School High-Q" and it was Rick Moranis that
wanted to fix everyones buzzer."I have a philips out in the car" John's
character kept buzzing in but denying that he did when confronted by Alex.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you've got 2 game shows mixed
up. You're talking about Night School Hi-Q. John Candy wasn't the
techno-nerd on that show either. John was the guy who kept pressing
his buzzer and denying he did it. Rick Moranis was the guy who "had a
Philips out in the car, be done in 5 minutes"

Harold Ramis was a writer and performer during the show's early days.
He played charcters like Moe Green, Curtis Edgett (Plainclothes
Mountie), Mort Finkel (Do-it-yourself dentistry) and others.

I think you're referring to Harold Ramis......

Moe Green was originally played by Harold Ramis (who was indeed in
Ghostbusters). Moe did all of the Dialing for Dollars until he got kidnapped
by Leutonian Leftists and was replaced by Walter Cronkite (Dave Thomas).
