Cool! That was an interesting comment by Dave about how he thought
they should have been on PBS in the first place. Too bad they didn't
do this a couple of years ago. It might have generated more interest
in the DVDs and maybe they would have released at least one more. Oh
well.

SCTV definitely would've done great on PBS. Actually, they still can,
can't they? The Red Green Show did well there recently.

The problem is PBS wouldn't have had the money to pay for the show at the
time.

Agreed - maybe they didn't have it then. My thrust: do they have it
now? SCTV is still floating out there, right? "I Love Lucy" did its
best business 20-30 years after the fact.

For those who didn't see it, Channel 21 kept cutting into the program
to raise funds and I have to say that this was one of the more
enjoyable PBS fundraisers I've seen. It was brilliant the way they
kept cutting to clips from the SCTV telethon show. The hosts were
clearly fans of the show and were actually funny at times. They even
blew them themselves up good...REAL good!

I didn't see it, but delighted they did it right. SCTV sets a pretty
high standard for satire and comedy. Any half-baked patronizing
attempt would attract certainly fire from here, at least.
