The Walking Dead *cancel it now*

from the 20th century, 2nd millennia brought back to life for the 21st
century, 3rd millennia.
Imagine the 1954 novel I am Legend by Richard Matherson crossed with the
1969 novel The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton and you have the plot
outline for TV series The Walking Dead.
You can forget the comic book series The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman,
Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, which was paying homage to all those Zombie
slasher flicks of yesteryear.
All of which were inspired by both I am Legend (3 movies and counting) and
The Andromeda Strain (2 movies and counting) and not forgetting the original
novels that were made into movies.

I have seen zombie movies since I was a kid in the 60's. I have NEVER
sat though a whole one, thought they were stupid.
Walking Dead I can handle, indeed, I look forward to its' return.

It is nothing more than a metaphor for everything you hate.
Think about it for a moment or two; the Zombies are nothing more than a
symbol for your very own worst nightmares.
What ever you personally hate, be it Political, Religious, Philosophical,
Race, Gender or alternative lifestyle, the Zombie becomes it, and you quite
literally able to blow it away.
If I did not know better I could all to easily make the mistake in claiming
that the TV show the walking dead was pure propaganda for the Tea Party
Movement.
My false rationale being, that the survivors from the cities were escaping
the multi diverse zombies, in order to recreate a more pure American race in
the Hartland.
Or to put it another way the cities are dead and dying from excess, and only
the more rural elements can save America from its self.

apocalypse fiction - depiction of what happens with the society and the
psychology of the survivors, not the mindless gore.)
I bet that a simple image of a teaspoon would be enough to start a political
rant for some people.
