All right, I'll admit something that may make me sound out of it
amongst some here:

I've never really watched that much, if any, full episodes of Saved by
the Bell in any incarnation.

SO, with that being said, I have to ask this amongst the ones that are
fans of the show here:

What was your opinion on the 13 episode run "pilot series" for Saved
by the Bell, "Good Morning, Miss Bliss".

I've read it's different in tone to the original series, and obviously
it wasn't as successful as its successor, but I would like to hear the
opinions of those that have seen it.

Mostly boring. Some episodes standout for being funny for being so
bad. One is the Red Satin Jacket Gang who Zack wants to be a part of
so they haze him by doing embaressing things like wearing a bathing
suit and flippers to class. They were sweet jackets though.

Another is when Zack asks a girl that Mikey liked and they had an
argument over it. Didn't reach Zack vs Slater in Saved by the Bell
though, no bodyslams. I remember mostly for the dance scene where
Nikki is horrified at the girls "mini" skirt that *gasp* one inch
above the knee.

It was boring. The show is somewhat like it would become as Saved By
the Bell, but the main difference is Good Morning was a starring
vehicle for Hayley Mills.

You still had Zack Morris the scammer, Screech was the geek in love
with Lisa, and Lisa was the rich girl.

The other two student characters were useless.

Am I the only one who thought Miss Wentworth was the closest thing to
a Miss Bliss on Saved By The Bell. She was the only teacher at Bayside
that didn't seem like a cartoon character, and just like Miss Bliss
she stands her ground with Mr. Bellding. It was the episode when Zack
was on the track team and had to do a report on his ancestor or be off
the team, that is the episode in which Belding said "Gee Ms. Wentworth
that's not fair."

Also the season 4 premere with Zack and Slater asking the same goal to
the senior party that is a complete redone of the Zack and Mickey
fight over a girl in Good Miss Bliss, though the difference was the
girl rejected Mickey for Zack and she was clearly Zack's date, while
Zack and Slater were fighting for a girl that was fair game for both
of them.

And Nikki is defentely an early prototype of Jessie Spano. The episode
when she freed the frogs, that was pure Jessie.

So yes they are elements that would be inspired to use in Saved By The
Bell.
