Remember the dark days of Nick when it became the Klasky Csupo channel
around 1999-2000 when it started showing nothing but crappy Klasky
Csupo cartoons like The Wild Thornberrys and Rocket Power? Rugrats was
going down the tube with the addition of Dil and Kimi, and classic
shows like Doug and Rocko's Modern Life were gone from the network?

From 1991 to 2003 KC ruled over the Nicktoon landscape to a degree
that only Butch Hartman has come even close to matching. The reason for
KC's domiance was Rugrats which became with the exception of the
Simpsons the most popular cartoon of the 90s.Seeing how successful
Rugrats was and they had rather nasty breakups with the majority of
their other creators while retaining a healthy relationship with KC
Nick kept ordering KC shows in an attempt to find the next
Rugrats.IMO.After Rugrats KC made Aaahh Real Monsters,TWD,Rocket
Power,ATBG and AGU.Hey Arnold was created by Craig Bartlett a member
of the Rugrats staff.Personally I think KC was at it's best up to 1997
as early Rugrats and Aaahh Real Monsters were really high quality
stuff that really fit KC's animation style well. However after 1997
everthing went downhill as IMO every single show they created was
worse than the last (I mean that literally Rugrats was better than
Monsters which was better than TWD etc).Due to Rugrats really taking
off after the movie from 1998 to 2000 KC released a new show each and
every year trying to make the next Rugrats by trying to make a new
show for every trend whether it be Enviromentalism,Action Sports or an
animated soap opera. While all these shows have respectably sized cult
bases non of them became the next Rugrats. When all these shows failed
Nick procedded to turn the highest rated Rugrats special into a show
of it's own.As Rugrats itself was on the decline by the early 2000s
and the now obselete KC shows weren't making enough money to warrent
their high production and promtion budgets Nick cleaned house(similar
to the 2006 new regime purgue) of all their KC inventory except
AGU(Which had just started and and was doing quite well Nick still
wanted to keep Rugrats around in some form). As part of the new regimes
purgue in 2006 AGU would be canned as well putting an end to the KC
Nicktoon dynasty. At the time of Rugrats creation KC animation was
cutting edge with it's frankly ugly style and this worked well with
both Rugrats and Monsters.By the early 2000s though people were
becoming irratatted by the ugly animation style which had passed out
of favor with the times and it was to expensive for Nick to be
producing most of their lineup in it when the ratings were
declining.KC played a huge role as it was the dominant animation house
of the 90s( it also worked on the Simpsons). The Animated Soap operas
that KC brought us in the 90s were cutting edge as before that
animation was really only slapstick.
