I don´t know the name of the episode, but it´s the one where Roseanne
wants to take a bath and is constantly disturbed by her family; then
she falls asleep and in her dream the same thing happens and she
"kills" her whole family, bla...bla...bla.

And at the end they all sing together: "We loooove Roooseanne!"

I don't know if your legit, but my favorites are:

The episode where Jackie has to play Roxanne in the community theatre
version of Cyrano de Bergiac (I know I slaughtered the spelling).
Side-splittingly funny.

Roseanne taking Darlene's home economics class on a field trip to the
supermarket for meatloaf supplies (and twinkies for DJ's bully). Real
life real funny.

My favorite episode is when Roseanne finds pot and thinks
its Davids. Dan tells her that the pot is really
Roseanne's pot that he put away years ago. At the end Dan,
Roseanne and Jackie decide to smoke in the bathroom. That
was the funniest episode of all time.

Here's another vote for the episode when Jackie played Roxanne with
the Community Theater.

Also:

THe one where Darlene had her 16th b-day party and Roseanne met the
new neighbor, Ty, by running around the house topless during the adult
truth or dare game.

And when Jackie, Roseanne, and Nancy were at the loan dept. trying to
get one for the Diner:
Man: Have any of you ever had experience in the restaurant business
before?:
R: I was the best waitress at Rodbells, but they held me back because
I was a women and all.
J: I have HELD meet, I have EATEN meet!!!!
N: I'll just have to take a pass at this one!

Man: Any of you qualify for the handicapped?
R: I have three kids!
J: I'm in therepy!

My two favorites:

Roseanne taking Darlene's home economics class on a field trip to the

supermarket.

The D.J. masturbation episode.

(I also like the ones with Nanna Mary in them, but can't think of a
specific one off hand.)

My favourite episode is waaaayyy back when
Roseanne, Jackie, and the others worked at the
Wellman Factory. Roseanne stood up to the new
boss when he demanded the employees to work harder
(impossible). Roseanne tried to reason with him,
and ended up walking out and taking some of the
best workers with her.

It lead to the decline of Wellman Plastics. You
can't help but root for the little guy (gal in
this case!)

YES YES YES! I actually taped this years ago and kept that one episode on
tape because I couldn't bear to tape over it. It was the episode that
turned me on to Roseanne.

Well for some reason the episode where DJ was failing math because he
had a real cute teacher and was embarrassed to go up to the board
because he was afraid his hard on would show is one of the tops to me.

When Dan and the guys were discussing the benefits of untucked shirt
vs. books in front to hide embarasing situations I was busting up.

Funny, none of the girls I know seem to think it was that great an
episode - guess it is a guy thing. <g>

Personal favorites:

- The two-parter where Roseanne and Dan discovered that Jackie was
being beaten by her boyfriend Fisher.

- The one where Roseanne meets David's mother and he starts to live
with them.

- The one where Becky gets in trouble for flipping the bird during the
class photo.

- The one where Dan had to put his mother in a mental institution.

- The one where Dan and Roseanne find out that Darlene is pregnant.

- The one involving DJ and masterbation.

- The halloween one where Roseanne finds Dan and Fred in bed together.

- The one(s) where Dan is in the hospital after his heart attack.

Of course there are tons more. These are my immediate recollections.

how about the episode where Becky farted in front of the entire school
after saying "I would like to thank you for allowing me to speak my
mind....."

And what about the one where Bev broke her pelvis while having sex?

I'm not so sure the writing suffered so much but I generally agree about
the standard. Two things changed - firstly, Roseanne herself within a
couple of seasons became bitter and it no longer looked as though she was
enjoying herself. That's what I loved about the show. Secondly, the
writing for the relationship for Roseanne and Dan changed. They used to
have a friendship based on respect - in recent series it was based on
Dan's fear of Roseanne. This was highlighted by the way Roseanne would
put Dan through the griller for something trivial and how Dan didn't
stand up to her as much as he used to. That episode which ended with Dan
assuming the feotal (spelling?) position when Roseanne returned home
epitomises my point and makes me cringe to this day. I think both these
changes (to the attitude of the actress and character Roseanne) might be
traced back to the unpleasantness of her breakup with Tom Arnold. I
can't believe the rise to prominance of her anti-male views in 1993/4 and
her marriage breakup at the same time are merely coincidences.

Any views, ladies and gents?

I have a few Best Episodes: Halloween Episode at the Lobo when Roseanne
is dressed like a man. Our local station FOX 5 who runs the show in
syndication has edited out the part where Roseanne goes into the mens room
and uses the urinal. In my opinion this was one of the funniest moments of
the show.
Anothe one is when DJ is masterbating. "Hey Deej, heard you got caught
playing with your instrument in band"
However the funniest scene appears in the episode where Roseanne and
Jackies father dies. The scene where Jackie has to call auntie barbara on
the phone to tell her that her father has passed away. Auntie Barbara has
a hearing problem and Jackie says.... Dad's no longer with us.... Dad's
passed on.....Dad 's dead...... DEAD.... DAD IS DEAD..... He's fine he
sends his love.

I don't want the series to end.... The show sucks but it was funny for so
long I hate to see it end. Dan and Roseanne's relationship was destroyed a
few years ago, and that really bothered me. Like when they were fighting
over Darlene and David and Dan told her to watch her... and Roseanne said
"why don't I just put her on top of the tv so you can watch her all day"
Another one of the lines that bothered me was when Dan wanted Roseanne to
come into the kitchen and she said something about his food dish getting
stuck under the counter.

Anyway.................

This is definitely one of my all time favorite lines from Roseanne. I
started cracking up just reading it again. As for my favorite
episode....that is tough, so I am going to make a generalization and say
most of the Halloween episodes (excluding this year, which I saw taped,
and which I thought was the worst Roseanne ever). I always look forward to
the Halloween episodes. I especially like the "Christmas Carol" takeoff
one.

The only thing that bothered me about Roseanne dressing like a man is
that she always had that silly grin on her face.

One awesome line was when Darlene was depressed for awhile and just
lied on the couch and wore only black. Roseanne gave Darlene her
Rodbell's card to buy some new clothes:
Darlene: Well what should I buy?
Roseanne: I don't know, something that will make you blend in with
the couch.

I think the best episode I ever saw was the one where Jackie and Fred
went to counsellor (played by Ellen) ; it just killed me !!!
Meanwhile, that was also the episode where D.J. introduced his new
girlfriend Lisa (wonder what became of her) : she was so funny ; she
reminded me so much of Jodie Foster and Roseanne herself.
I'm so sorry this show is going ; I just saw the last episode of Season 8
on friday and now we just have to wait until the final season comes to
us.
I'm going to miss her and David ; in fact when I think of it I'm going
to miss them all ; including Bev.
I'm so glad that Sarah Chalke will be playing Becky in the final season.
I really don't like Lecy anymore !!!
I think was kinda fun the way they all handled it ; I mean the constant
changes between Sarah & Lecy.

Bye,

Bert.

After seeing the finale we now know that most of this was "fiction" that
Roseanne wrote in her book. The finale has ruined the series for me :( I
will always look at it differently now, but I have to say that the Finale

The finale did not necessarily invalidate everything. The gist of it,
as I see it, as that most of the series was Roseanne Connor's book,
but a book that was pretty much based on her own life, with a couple
of changes (mom and sister's sexuality, daughters' husbands), but
otherwise pretty much telling the story of her own -- Roseanne
Connor's -- life. All except for this year's shows which I take it
were nearly complete fiction (Dan recovering, winning the lottery, the
separation, etc.) Everything else can be taken to be the real life of
the Connor family, with some fictional embellishment and literary
flourishes (Bev and Jackie's sexuality, Becky and Darlene's different
pairings, Arnie being sent off into space, etc.). LOTS of writers
draw on their own real life experiences for their work, changing the
details a bit, consolidating some events or people for better
story-telling, etc. So, yes, the entire series has been changed, but
not necessarily ruined. We thought we had been seeing the Conners
going about their lives, but find out now that what we were actually
watching was Roseanne Connor's fictionalized-but-based-in-reality
*portrayal* of her family's life -- which is really just a reflection
on _Roseanne_ the series, which in many ways is a fictionalized
account of Roseanne's [nee Barr nee Arnold] own life and family and
friends. Brilliant.

[My only advice to Roseanne Connor, The Writer, is: for your next
book, stick to the real-life stuff that made up the first 7/9ths of
your book -- much better and funnier than the totally imaginary stuff
that you tried in the latter part] :-)

I, too, will miss Roseanne.

-Rosanne's father's death

Yeah, that was the one with the Ab-Fab people, right? Well, I think that
was pretty stupid as well. I didn't much like anything in the last
