Meghan McCain Slams Roseanne Barr, Joy Behar Defends Her

ABC's "The View" co-host Meghan McCain took a shot at Roseanne Barr on
Friday, telling her to stay out of Republican politics because she
represents every bad stereotype that is associated with the party.
McCain's comments came after Barr appeared on Fox News with Sean
Hannity on Thursday to discuss her racist tweet about former Obama aide
Valerie Jarrett.
Speaking to Rabbi Schmuley Boteach, McCain said, "I understand
everything you’re saying about forgiveness, but I’m a Republican on
'The View,' and every day, I come on here trying to tell people Trump
supporters and Republicans were nuanced. It’s not just one blanket
thing and I was so excited when [Roseanne's show] first came on and I
really liked it because I thought it was a reflection of the middle of
the country."
"And the problem I have right now is: Roseanne is every gross
stereotype I’m trying to get people away from," McCain continued. "Her
tweet, a lot of the incendiary things she has said about Jewish people,
and obviously about Valerie Jarrett. So, it’s hard for me to come back,
and it’s not even about forgiveness for me."
"It’s more that I don’t want her to be associated with the Republican
party in any way," McCain stated.
Boteach pushed back by highlighting the show's initial success and
stating that Barr did not have a history of bigotry, prejudice, or
racism.
"She dressed up like Hitler with cookies that looked like Jewish people
from the ovens," McCain fired back. "That’s not a kind person that
would do something like that."
Leftist Joy Behar came to Barr's defense, sticking up for her after her
apology on Hannity's show, saying that it was "sincere."
McCain drove a nail into Behar's defense, pointing out that her issue
with Barr isn't whether or not she has asked for forgiveness, rather,
she wants Barr to "stay the hell out of my lane in Republican politics
because she’s making everything worse."
