Man, that brings back memories!

I wouldn't even watch the first season of Magnum PI because I hated Lance White
so much! Then I kicked myself, because turns out Magnum was the closest thing
to Rockford (IMO) once Jimmy went off the air. Then Magnum went off, and I
haven't been normal since....

Remember the Magnum episode that opened with some hoods discussing a
Lance White episode of Rockford?

NO WAY! I can't believe that I missed that episode. I thought I'd seen them
all. Sounds hilarious. Must have been in the first season.

At least Tom Selleck gave James Garner credit for his success. I used
to read accounts of his acceptance speech at awards and in interviews
in which he would acknowledge JG.

Back when Magnum was is its final season, I wrote CBS to urge them to include
James Garner as Rockford in at least one episode. I told CBS that without The
Rockford Files, "Magnum PI" would have never existed.

I received a very nice postcard in reply saying that unfortunately, scheduals
didn't work out for Magnum and Rockford to appear together.

I still have the postcard. I believe that no such plans were ever in the works.
Anyone know different?

BTW, does anyone know when the final two Rockford's appear on CBS?
