I always thought that a lot of the things he did on the original series
wouldn't fly today, because of advances in technology and such, but the
concepts he used still worked in the movies. Angel is, as always, completely
over the top with his schemes. It was nice to see that many of the original
cast came back somewhere along the line, and there were some familiar names
in the credits. (If only Noah Beery, Jr. could have been there...though I
think they handled his passing as well as anyone could have...)
Movies 1-3 were very good, if not excellent. The fourth movie (with Becker's
somewhat estranged son) felt a little hurried to me and the plot seemed kind
of thin and like it was written by a distracted person.
I'm looking forward to the next set. The only one of the TV movies that I've
seen the first time around was the one that aired in 1999. I didn't think
James Garner looked too great in that one, but maybe it was just the shock
of seeing him in the original series and the movie.

What was the quality of the video like? I know when then originally aired
here the quality was not very good but thought it was our local cable
system.
Thanks

I watched them on a portable computer (a Dell Latitude D800 if you really
care) and thought the picture quality was excellent.
Curiously, I thought the same of the original series DVDs as well--most of
the episodes were of surprisingly high quality to me...especially since DVDs
that I have for other, much newer shows, frequently were a lot grainier and
less sharp.

Thank you
