This is one of my favorites (at least in the top 20). Like
the scene where Angel is pushing Chapman around, and it is
kind of cool when you figure out what is going on when Jim
shows up with his date. But the best part is Angel explaining
the A-B-C's to his brother-in-law.

This was James Luisi' favorite episode of his. Fun filming it too.

I can imagine that this was James Luisi' favorite, or I would have thought,
one of them anyway. He was front and center in this one. Anything special
happen during the filming of the episode, or was it just one of those "fun"
episodes as you put it?

LOL Re William R's, "But then what do I know? I'm just a guy in a
checkered coat."
Empty Frame is a classic.

But GREAT taste in television, at least as far as TRF goes. Dirty Money,
Black Light is superb as well. I could also add Hotel of Fear and the Becker
Connection...Lord, there's so many *really well* written and performed
Rockford eps, I'd be hard pressed to say there's a really Bad One. There's
universal dislike for 'Just a Couple of Guys', but it has it's oddball sort
of charm when watched VERY infrequently. I also think some eps. in the first
season - as always in a TV series - the characters are not nearly as fleshed
out, so that could be a deficiency of a *couple* of early eps. But, man oh
man, by Season II - when the writing and acting is "running like a swiss
watch" - it's one of the best shows of all time. IMO - There are No BAD
Rockfords, just some are weaker than others. Never cared much for ''Sleight
of Hand' - but once in a blue moon it's okay. Besides they were probably
working so hard on next week's "Counter Gambit" they wrote and filmed
"Sleight.." so theycould quickly to get working on CG - *another* one of my
favorites! Enough, I could write a book on my favorites - which is basicaly
what I've done. Sorry for the top post - I only wanted to also agree with
BLDMoney and got Waay carried away. Besides, I haven't been posting much and
missed you guys.

Agree. "Oddball charm" is a great way to put it. IMO not only for the
admittedly off-kilter and out-of-character JACG but, in a larger sense,
for TRF in general, including the very best eps. I guess sometimes "charm"
seems almost like an old-fashioned term, but to me it seems to be one
word--I'm sure there are others--which isn't a bad single-term explanation
for what makes us like the series. Seems to me JACG IS on or near the
bottom edge, though, if I'm forced into a ranking of the eps. But agree
with you--give me the whole series--all the eps--not a top 50 or whatever.
