Can anyone please tell me the most accurate (order) way to watch
Robotech, with its spinoffs and movies. I would like to know which
Anime spinoffs are related to the TV series and where should these
spinoffs and movies be watched in relation to the series. For example:
1. "Macross" 1999-2014 ?
2. "Macross Flashback 2012"
3. "Robotech: Not Necessarily the Sentinels"
4. "Robotech: The Sentinels" ???????
5. "Robotech: The Movie" 2027
6. "Southern Cross" 2027-2033
7. ???

Can you please tell me if this is correct (I don't think it is) and
could you fill in other sequels that I have missed and place them in the
correct order to view?

thanks

I think that the best way to watch Robotech is in the original order.
Macross, Southern Cross, Invid War. Macross flashback is not Robotech.
RT 3: NNTS is a fan parody and has no bearing on teh story at all.
Robotech: The Movie follows a different story line than the rest of
Robotech. And only 3 episodes of the Sentinels was made so for now I
look at it as filler, it's just Rick and Lisa's wedding to me.

I've never heard of Robotech: Not Necessarily The Sentinels. Where can I
get a copy?

This isn't hard to get a copy of. If no one else will, e-mail me and I'll
see that you get a copy. The real question is where can you get a copy of
Robotech IV? It was made by the same people who made Robotech III: Not
Necessarily The Sentinels,
but I haven't found anyone who has a copy. Back at Anime Expo '93, they
showed it. It used the animation from Gunbuster episode 6 and Macross II.
Robotech III: NNTS used footage from Gunbuster, Macross Flashback 2012,
and Mospeada Love Live Alive.

macross (non-macross-ii) timeline:
1 original macross/dyrl (do you remember love: movie)
2 (flashback 2012) (30-minute music video)
3 macross plus
4 macross 7

robotech (afaik):
1 robotech macross

R3:NNTS is a joke, made by fans, so it doesn't go anywhere. Robotech: the
Movie takes place just before Southern Cross, but 1) is nigh-impossible to find
and 2) contradicts the Southenr Cross segment on several major plot-points,
so is probably outside the main Robotech continuity.

Just a minor thing. Robotech 2 starts before southern cross but ends about the same
time as new generation ends according to what I understand from the books.

As far as I know, the time line goes something like this...

1. Macross
2. Robotech the Movie (But does not really fit into the Robotech story line)
3. The Robotech Masters (aka Southern Cross)
4. The New Generation (aka Mospeada))
* Robotech II: The Senetinels -- Takes place after the Macross Sega and
continues on.

As far as I know, Macross Flashback 2012 and Macross: Do You Remeber Love,
doesn't really fit into American trilogy of Robotech.

Also, you might want to check out Macross Plus, which takes place after
the
Macross Sega. It's a spin off, it doesn't really have any of the
original Macross
characters except for reference of Minmei.
