However, your request puts TEAM ROBO in a very awkward position (even with
just replying to your post). Because if they send you tapes, then they have
to send tapes to *everyone* who asks. It can't work that way. Johan and Jose
got tapes because they've promoted PD in very unique ways. Guys like you,
me, Brandon (who shall be known hereafter as "the bastard"), Glenn, and a
certain person who can't spell Page Fletcher's name and shall remain
nameless (Mr. Anderson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) haven't done that. We will have to
wait like everyone else.
Best,

P.S. Didn't bribery occur to you... ?
I wouldn't say funny exactly, more of a way to waste time as I
wind the stressful week down (see post regarding my Halloween)
> Guys like you, me, Brandon (who shall be known hereafter as "the

Is that about the thing I brought up on the RoboCop Archive
boards? If so, I'm not too pleased about that either. To say anymore
would be uncouth.

I know, I know, I didn't honestly expect to get anything out of
this, I was jsut having a little fun.. Sorry if I made anyone
uncomfortable.

1. Like you said, simply asking for tapes is bad enough. If I had
offered them payment for the tapes when they're still talking to
distributors, doesn't that turn into a legal issue?
2. Considering how much you disliked the original post, I knew you
would've hated it 10x more if I had included graphic descriptions of the
sexual favors I was willing to give for those tapes. (just kidding)

Before you buy.
No.
I mean yes.

I dunno. I was kinda expecting Brad or Joe to post a list of demands
involving your bone marrow, kidneys, a lung, maybe a portion of your
intestines, $65.00 US, and upon completing all demands and sending a cheque,
they would be honoured to send you tapes or a DVD -- in February 2002. :-)
Sorry if I sounded stern or overbearing or pretentious. I've done things so
stupid I fall asleep asking myself why.

"Evil comes in many forms. Sometimes it knocks you through walls. Other
times, it makes you forget what you were thinking."
I've sent all of those things months ago, and Brad still hasn't returned
my e-mails about it. Come to think about it, I wonder if that big thick
mail from Fireworks Entertainment that bars me from mailing them things,
or coming anywhere near their offices has anything to do with that.

I don't know why he hasn't said anything about this. I'm angry, but I would
let it go and totally forget it if he just a) apologized or b) said he was
kidding and that we're taking it too seriously. Instead, his silence is just
making it worse. So...
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm going to forget that he
said what he said. Because, well, I've done things that are equally
thoughtless. Those people were willing to forgive me. I wouldn't be
deserving of that kindness if I wasn't willing to do the same.
So there. My one regret is that I never really had the opportunity to use
his new name. Damn and blast.

And, as much as I don't ANYONE using it as an excuse, Brandon's young.
He probably hasn't fallen on his ass as much as some of us, so I'm
willing to give him some leeway. And that's all I have to say on the
matter.

In article <tQ3N5.12722$4U6.5...@news1.rdc2.on.home.com>,
Thanks. As for the lack of activity here...
I'd say it has to do with all of us being talked out. The problems with the
franchise, the incredible disappointments that were the sequels and
TV-series, the hopes for the future -- we've discussed it all. And with an
airdate for PD being far away, there's just not a lot to talk about.
> In that perspective, stuff going on here
> doesn't bother me as much as it used to (although the lamers at the
> official board are really giving me a headache now)
I know. Rian, Joe and Marcus were hurt and offended by what was said, and
the rest of Team Robo's silence there speaks volumes. What can any of us
say, except that it had nothing to do with the creators, and everything to
do with frustration being vented. In time, maybe they'll see it as a
compliment -- an indication as to how badly, how desperately fans want Alex
Murphy to be redeemed.
However... RoboCop is fortunate in that the first movie is a complete story
with a beginning, middle, and end. Like the Highlander series, this is a
franchise where everything after the original can be ignored.
--Kevin Riley
I've sent an e-mail to Rian about this already, but I'll repeat it for
Team Robo and the more "civil" RoboFans who may be reading this: I
think that the official board shold change formats again.
Registration should be required to post on the board, so that everyone
will have to supply a real e-mail address. People that repeatedly
insult other boardmembers and cause trouble can and will be banned.
(Right now, I'm thinking "eMiL", who, among other things, has called
Marcus an "arrogant fag" and said "Fuck jg" on numerous occasions)
Also, when people are banned, their e-mails and hostnames are kept on
record, so that they can be barred from entering those contests that JG
mentioned earlier in the news page.
I'm sure this sounds extremely harsh to some, but the people in that
board have gone out of control, and have taken advantage of the
PRIVILEGE that Team Robo has granted them by opening up the board. This
would help to weed out the lamers (who I'm sure are only a small
percentage of RoboFandom) or hopefully at least get them to shape up.
I'm interested to know what everyone thinks about this. Reply to this
post, or e-mail me for your opinions.

PS My vote for a new message board system would go to the one at
http://www.viewaskew.com/ It's got a crisp format, requires
registration, and there's an option to put the names of important people
in different colors to make their posts stand out. To check it out,
click on the WWWBoard link, and at the very bottom of the board, you'll
see a link to obtain the script.
I agree. But Rian's a really, really busy guy. I think that if he's going to
do it, it's a future project.
