This newsgroup was set up to counter the only other "Red
Dwarf" Newsgroup (alt.tv.red-dwarf). Recently it has been
difficult for newcomers to use this group as it was intended
(for fans of the TV show to discuss, chat and generally have
fun). The language used in the old Newsgroup was filthy and
it seems to be populated with teenagers (not that I have
anything against teenagers!!((used to be one myself))) who
are more interested in seeing a post with their name on it
rather than contributing anything of substance.

I will aim to keep the moderated group as friendly as
possible. "All" are welcome and you are free to put forward
any views you wish 'provided they are in some way related to
the TV show Red Dwarf'. What follows are the basic rules of
the group (you don't HAVE to follow them but your message
may not be posted if you don't at least try!)

1) NO sexual swear words (you may give me permission to
edit to ensure your post gets through)

2) NO 'off topic' flames (your welcome to disagree with
anyone who posts a comment about Red Dwarf that you
believe to be wrong)

3) No 'off topic' posts (This newsgroup is about RED
DWARF, there are between 10,000 to 35,000 newsgroups
available for other topics)

4) NO binaries (if you have files you want other people
to enjoy make sure you post an e-mail address first
to allow people to ASK for it privately rather than
imposing it on everyone)

5) IF YOU DISAGREE WITH SOMEONES CONDUCT SAY SO
POLITELY AND CLEARLY SO THAT IT CAN BE RESOLVED (I
don't consider polite disagreement to be a flame)

6) ALL ages are welcome (despite what I said in the
intro) its not your age that counts, its your
attitude.

Just about anything else is acceptable. If you have any 'off
topic' questions then e-mail me privately at "mark _ r _ cox
@ hotmail . com" (remove the spaces) and I will be happy to
help.
