I'm an American catching Reboot Season 3 for the first time ever, it's been
great so far. Being an immense Evil Dead / Army of Darkness fan, I was
incredibly surprised at the season premiere's game! The last episode that's
been on (just warning, if you reply to this thread, don't go ahead of the
U.S. schedule) has been 3.2.1, the first of the *new* Enzo and Andraia that
was in all of those season 3 promo's...

What I've really been loving have been all of the massive, massive pop
culture sci-fi / etc. references to everything in the show so far! From the
whole Bond thing in Firewall to the Frances McDormand / Fargo imitation,
hanna barbara cartoon characters (can't remember his name, with the mutt and
the car) and even a somewhat obscure quote in 3.1.4 Game Over from Star Trek
II: The Wrath of Khan ("I don't believe in a no-win situation.") and that
doll Volkswagen commercial, there's been a lot.

I don't know if this was already covered in the ng when S3 original series
aired, but I'd like to hear what other ones have been in there. I've caught
a lot but I'd like to hear what others have seen... my friend today pointed
out that Koboyashi Maru ref.

Can't wait to see this new tetrology...

I'm not going to give any spoilers away, but the Star Trek references in
ReBoot resurface soon. You'll know them when you see/hear them.

About the Star Trek II reference, I hope everyone noticed Cursor's last words

in today's ep, "Where No Sprite Has Gone Before":

"System out of Danger?" "Then Where I go, I go alone."

Just like Spock's last words in Wrath of Khan.

And they've been in before...

In "Talent Night",the Captain Quirk version of Elton John's "Rocket Man"

Maybe we should start "The Annotated Reboot", a list of such references?

There's also a Picard binome, seen in AndrAIa, IIRC

"All you said was 'Engage!'"
"And 'Make it so.' I said 'Make it so' more than I did 'Engage.'"

(IIRC again, a Riker binome was deleted after Megabyte used his Borg
routine in 3.1.1 or 3.1.2. "Resistance is futile. You will be
assimiliated.")

Actually, the one deleted by Megabyte was a Piccard binome ("The line must be
drawn HERE!"). The Riker binome, or rather Number One, was in "Bad Bob." It
only looked like Riker; it sounded like Sean Connery.

No, that was a Picard binome -- it spoke Picard's famous line from "Star
Trek: First Contact": "The line must be drawn *here*!"

At which point Megabyte deleted him, leaving only his boots.

There was a Riker binome in "Bad Bob" (Dot even addressed him as "Number
One"), but he talked like Scotty. >_<

I specifically went and got a copy of the Prisoner episodes because I knew
there was a ReBoot ep based on it, and I am glad I did! It's a great
series in its own right, and ReBoot couldn't have handled it better. I
recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen the Prisoner yet.

I never did like that binome. Didn't act like Picard in any way. Too
whiney. In S3 they had a 1 version, and he died with his boots on. Brief but
more like Picard.

I think that binome was more of a "ST fan dressed as Picard."

You've got AndrAIa, Mouse, and Dot. What do you need '38 of DD' for?

(To add a more serious note:While the "Women Of Season 3" are, uhm,
well-devloped in that sense of the word, it's also worth noting that
they're also extremely well-round (slap! no pun intended!) characters.
All of them are competant, capable, and, more importantly, unique
individuals. Unlike most series where you have the token female
sidekick, ReBoot has several women in important roles. So why isn't it
ever lauded by the usual suspects?

This was well-discussed several years ago, but is worth bringing up again
for all the new viewers. It is refreshing to have a series that shows
women as strong role models. And not just one woman, but half the cast.

Kudos to Mainframe's leaders for providing such a positive vision.

OK, I'll run with this. You've done a good job of mapping positions but
this list totally ignores personalities. For instance Phong is quiet and
wise which is nothing like the bosterous, slow witted Archchancelor.
Matrix has never shown any propensity for being far to naive for his age.

I think I've seen all the episodes now, but there was
one pop culture reference I never saw. Was there ever
