I wrote to the CEA (Communications Electronics Association) with this
message:

I am writing to ask you if there is a device made that can filter sound
from my TV. When I turn on the Television, I set the volume at say, 20.
A commerical comes on and the station turns it up to 30 to blast the
information at me. Action: I mute the sound altogether. This is
annoying because then I have to sit there and watch the screen in order
to turn on the sound again when the program resumes. The worst problem:

We notice that now that music is being played in the background, we can
no longer hear what is being said. I really need to turn down the music,
not the volume itself. Action: My wife sits in the kitchen on her
computer and I sit here in the office on my computer. We are watching
very little television anymore. Is there something I can buy that will
resolve this problem or should I just go ahead and sell my TVs?

I will continue to write to these people and try to get them to see what
their brains should be telling them, that if their advertisers think
that I am about to run out and buy their products because they blasted
an ad in my ears, they are beyond help, stupid comes to mind. And we
are not watching the shows that insist I need to hear their dam music
and miss what they are sayingwell the same goes to them as well. Next
is the advertisers themselves. Maybe they really are just too stupid.

I found this just recently. The networks are OWNED by and in this order:

General Electric Co.
Time Warner
Walt Disney
News Corp Run by Rupert Murdoch which at the top of his line is:
FOX so much for liberal news who do the idiots think own them? Try A
Right Wing Conservative.
CBS and VIACOM owned by Sumner Redstone* (Viacom Chairman Sumner
Murray Redstone, the multi-billionaire who is the controlling
shareholder of media conglomerate Viacom and of CBS Corp.,) To see
where Sumner offers his benevolence:

5 Companies/Individuals OWN the TV Networks.

I am continuing to search into what organizations might have an interest
in this problem.
