Here's the news for US fans:

AMC will premiere its six-part mini-series "The Prisoner" on Sunday,
November 15 from 8 - 10pm ET/PT, featuring the series' first two
episodes back-to-back. A reinterpretation of the 1960s cult classic,
"The Prisoner" will air over three consecutive nights, with two episodes

Three days?..... 8-O

Who said young people today have short attention spans....
(dvd-set available on Friday maybe)

Breaking out of the moulds:
"The Prisoner is an incredibly powerful and unique TV brand. A proven
hit since the 60’s, the all new series is set to become one of TV’s
most exciting and compelling primetime dramas. We believe the wide and
varied collection of master-toy products will captivate audiences of
all ages."

Does *every* TV show get a set of bendy dolls?

Maybe I can decorate my Christmas tree with them. :-)

Sounds more like Dallas.

From http://www.toynewsmag.com/news/31669/Factory-secures-Prisoner

'Darren Epstein, CEO, Factory Entertainment said: "There is already a huge
buzz about the new The Prisoner which we believe will be even more
successful as the original cult series".'

Apart from being grammatically incorrect, the above sentence is just
nonsense. If it wasn't for the fact that it was trading on the charisma of
the original series, no-one would be "buzzing" about what is going to be
screened and gone in half a week.

Indeed is anything "buzzing" anyway apart from self-interest groups? I'm
not. In fact, if it's anything less than the original, this series, like all
misconceived follow-ups, will only serve to tarnish a long-established
masterpiece.

Tosh. CEO Epstein thinks if he says it, it will be so.

There was some discussion regarding this at Comic-Con, with no word
from the Network yea, or nay. Nothing was evident at the various
miniature hawkers, and it was decided amongst the fans I was speaking
with that it was, indeed, inevitable that something would be done
along these lines. There have been minor efforts before regarding the
original series like this, but nothing big. The general agreement was
also that the original will suffer along with the remake as far as
this stuff goes, sooner or later. Can't wait for the Hallmark
Collector Christmas Ornaments - No. 6 and the Butler! Rover and any
No. 2! Miniature Portmeirions! To say nothing of Ian McKellan stuffed
dolls!

As I read this, I'm drinking my coffee from an official 'The Prisoner'
tea/coffee mug, purchased at the village shop. I have several maps,
badges, keyrings, coasters, fridge magnets and even a toy Mini-Moke. So
I have to ask...what's new? :/

I can't help it...I'm one of life's hoarders. Always have been. My house
