Janis Joplin on lead Vocals
Jim Morrison on backing vocals / Poetry / Ranting etc
Jimi Hendrix on Guitar
John Entwistle on Bass
Keith Moon on Drums
How's that?
Heaven in Heaven ?? : )

I remember seeing a bootleg CD in a 2nd-hand store years ago that had
Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison & Jimi Hendrix in some sort of session.
Unfortunately it was going for some ridiculous price, so I didn't buy
it. The photo on the cover did have all three in a studio.
I tried on WinMX not long ago, & ended up with an MP3 called
'Spaceship Blues' - it was played by some idiotic Jefferson Airplane /
Creedence Clearwater Revival-style band that was nothing to do with
any of them, although they were identified as the musicians.
I'd pick John Bonham (Led Zep) for the ultimate drummer, BTW :)

Funny you should say that.
There's a rock pub in Utrecht called "Stairway To Heaven" which has a
large mural of Jimi, Janis, Jim Morrison etc in heaven.
Their website is on www.stairway.nl, and here's a picture of it.

As far as I can make out that's Frank Zappa, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix
on harp, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones and Freddie Mercury.
I don't know who the bloke with the black hair at the front is.

Anyone seriously interested in this macabre though fascinating subject
should check out....

and

just two of a number of sites listing dear departed musicians.

Nor Tim Hardin, Nick Drake, Sandy Denny, George Harrison, Clarence White,
Clifford T Ward
...
Perhaps John and George could pen a song together...
"Imagine there's no music..." There won't be soon the way things are going. We
won't be short of people who can put a record on a turntable though! ;-)

I think the point is that it was rock heaven, not blues heaven.
Besides, you could probably have filled the entire wall with the faces
of dead rock stars twice over.
I remember a great Saturday-morning-after-the-Friday-night-before in Portmeirion
listening to (Dave) Saunter wigging out on his guitar while we all imbibed JDs.
Steve, you must bring yours sometime. Maybe some other musicians here can
arrange a jam session (I'm completely un-musical but I do like to listen).

Sadly, at the moment I'm unable to attend anything in the UK for
various reasons, which I won't go into here.
I'd love to have a jam sometime though. If anyone is passing through
Cologne, give me a call.
