The new PPG series has produced some cringe worthy moments, such as the
twerking panda, but many of the new cartoons are good. But the problem
with the new series is that the cartoons are never better than good;
none of them get to the next level of being great, memorable cartoons,
rather than just pleasant time fillers. The original series had its
misfires (such as "Mojo Jonesin'"), but they were more than offset by
inventive masterpieces such as "Boogie Frights", "The Powerpuff Girls
Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever", and "Something's a Ms.". For that
reason, I would never miss the premiere of a new episode of the original
series. With the reboot, I catch 'em when I think of it.
Question: what, if anything, can the new creative team do to make at
least some outstanding (not just good) PPG cartoons?
