This reminds me of something I just heard on the radio. Paula Cole wrote an
angry letter to Entertainment Weekly complaining how they airbrushed her
armpit hair out of her Grammys picture. They apologized and said they thought
her hair was a "smudge".

That's what it looks like in Love's picture.

After viewing the picture it simply looks like a shadow to
me. I think the photo is from LOVE'S last CD and I didn't see anything odd in
the pictures they ended up using for that.
By the way is it any shock at all that she is killing M.Joan
Hart in the sexy survey.Come on it's no contest. LOVE is far by far much cuter
and sexier. The pictures of LOVE are really good though.

I missed this looking at it the first time...I was staring at her
nipple. But you are right...she didn't shave all that recently. To me,
a major turn-on!

Oh no, I got in a huge debate about this whole thing on a mailing list!
Maybe it's a new trend (or a new/old trend- one that's returning?). I saw
Courtney Love from last year's Oscars and she had hairy armpits too. I don't
see what's wrong with it.

It looked to me like either a shadow or a flaw in the picture. The picture
isn't top quality. It appears to have been taken during the shoot for Love's
self titled cd, and none of the pictures from that seemed any different.

Easy, killer. O...K.... Hey, some people shave, some people don't.
Some people are lazy, some people don't like the way hair feels on
their skin. There's really nothing "sick" about it, one way or
another, IMHO. Personal preference is all. It goes back to another
thread around here about weight; our perception of beauty is
conditioned and shaped by society and the media. I think it's kind of
cool that "mainstream" women are all about the fuzz.

The picture was for her album right? Therefore, I pretty much think she
remembered to shave. it was a smudge.

I was wondering, what if Love went "european" (or should I say "continental"?)
and didn't shave her legs, would she still be as sexy?

Hairy legs, anyone?

It's largely a turn-off - hell, I don't even like it on
myself - but Sigourney Weaver had some pretty serious pit hair in
_Alien Resurrection_ and rggggggellllle!

I don't know *any* European women who don't shave or wax their legs,
regardless of what they do with their pits.

And I know...well, knew (in college/grad school) many American women
who didn't shave either.

That said, unshaven armpits/legs on women is a major turnoff to me,
but that's pretty much hardwired into my American brain.

Don't know where you're from and don't really know what you're trying to
say but if you're sayin' you think european women don't shave I think
you're wrong. There might still be some women that are groing beards but
rarely I suppose. Come and see if ya don't believe me. Why is it a lot of
americans have this weird thoughts 'bout europeans. Like so many other
things written on the net, thisone I don't get either!

I thought it was only steroeotypical of the French. But half the
stereotypes for them are wrong. The other half, who knows.

It looks like a smudge or a shadow to me. If look, the left armpit doesn't have
the 'smudge."

I can't believe that I am actually discussing her armpit hair.

Actually, all Mediterrainians are supposed to be hirstute, according to
the stereotype. Actually, all humans sport armpit hair, but American
women generally shave it off for fashion reasons.

Fashion reasons? NUH Uh they shave it so they won't look like cavewomen. I gues
it is fashion..kinda.
