This is a OLTL discussion group, isn't it? Why isn't anyone discussing
OLTL? IMO, it is very interesting right now.

OK, you start. I'll try to join in until I have
to go out of town.

Fox canceled my favorite show and I'm having
trouble caring if Jessica, Marcie and Starr find
out Bess switched their babies or if Todd, McBain,
Blair, Tea, etc get blown up, or what's her name
uses a punctured condom. I'm having trouble even
paying attention or remembering some of the
characters names. I haven't sat down and watched
anything all the way through all week, what's the
point.

I am always so far behind in my watching (usually at least a week, sometimes
two or three!) that by the time I want to talk about something, it's old
news. Or worse, I want to pose some speculation about a story, and it turns
out that that story was already resolved! "Hey everyone, I think I know who
the killer is! It's FISH!" Doesn't make for the greatest conversation when
the spec was shown to be completely wrong weeks earlier..

I wish more people would discuss OLTL. It's my favorite of the 3 ABC
soaps. I "semi-watch" it during the day while working, record it at
home, and try and catch up with the actual shows on the weekend.

I love the story line of Langston and Marko and especially think
Langston is doing a great acting job in the romance department, since
she seems quite young, much younger than Marko in real life.

As much as I like Cole and Starr, Starr's acting at times is very flat
and unbelievable. However, I wouldn't want her replaced. That's been
her role from day one. It's been fun watching her (and her brother in
real life) grow up and mature. I think Cole did a very good acting
job during his drug addiction days, which hopefully are over.

I love Jessica's/Starr's baby. I know they use twins, but both are
extremely cute and must be fun to work with. It's interesting to
watch how the adult actors react around an unpredictable baby.

I'm so glad Lola is out of the picture, although I love A. Martinez
playing her father and wish he would stick around. He and Dorian seem
to have great chemistry together.

Wish Vickie and Charlie would have more air time. I attended last
year's Daytime Emmy Awards in Hollywood and biggest thrill was seeing
Charlie and John McBain, who had a gorgeous female accompany him.

I wish there would be more discussion about some of the things the
crazy writers come up with, like Rebecca carrying a box of kitchen
matches with her to start an explosion, and how a gas explosion in a
basement could do so little damage. In real life, it would take the
building down. My favorite is how in a supposedly large city, people
tend to meet up with one another in parks, docks (General Hospital),
and other out of the way places. Where I live, people drive, not
walk! We'd never meet up with one another. I guess there would be no
story if things were written logically. And does anyone actually go
to work? Whether they have a job or own a business, with rare
exception, like Michael in the hospital, there always seems to be time
for shenanigans at any time of day.

Where did Lola go? I missed it. I saw her
confess to the things she did and I saw Dorian
warn Langston about the condoms. I missed how Ray
handled her killing her mother.

We haven't heard or seen anything about Lola since she confessed.

All of last week took place over night and one day - since the kids were
still talking about
prom being the night before. I'm guessing we will still see some kind of
scene involving
Lola and her father. Maybe they'll send her off to St. Ann's, since
she's obviously
mentally disturbed.

I wonder about weird things on the soaps, but what happens when
character have to
wear the same costume day after day like the actress playing Starr did
with the prom
dress? Does it get dry-cleaned over night? It seems like it would get
ripe after a couple
of days if they didn't do something with it. :)

Who is Starr's real life brother on the show? That kid who plays Jack is
great. He really gets into his role.

I don't think she should be replaced, but I think she should be back-burned.
They need to bring in some teenage characters played by people who can
actually ACT.

I recall years ago when several DOOL characters decided to visit Paris at
the same time (though independently of each other), and they kept running
into each other on the streets of Paris! I live in a tiny town, and even
*I* don't see people I know in random places!
