Chris Stack (Michael McBain) appears heading back the hallways and
operating rooms of Llanview Hospital later since summer, albeit
briefly. The actor only last Wednesday departed "One Life" with
co-star and onscreen wife Kathy Brier (Marcie McBain) at his side.
However, the actor reveals a bit of juicy storyline gossip with Soap
Opera Digest. In a recent interview with the soap magazine, Stack
reports that he "taped more episodes recently," and that it "had to do
with Shane's stem-cell transplant and Gigi, Stacy and Rex's
storyline." So, while it appears that the good doctor may be briefly
returning to help wrap up the plot later this summer, his better half
will remain off-camera.
Kim Sullivan returns as Judge Runyon on Monday, July 6th when John
asks him for a favor regarding Cole.
Despite the fact that a nasty rumor continues to circulate in certain
circles concerning "OLTL" toying with the idea of not returning Erika
Slezak's contract later this year, there remains no evidence to
indicate the 38-year vet may soon be on her way out of Llanview.
Speaking of rumors, some Internet sites are speculating that Paul
Satterfield (ex-Spencer Truman) and/or Roscoe Born (ex-Mitch Laurence)
may soon be popping up again on "One Life" with regards to the on and
off again storyline involving the true identity of Rex Balsom's
biological father. But, here again, there is no concrete evidence to
support either claim.
Finally, a "OLTL" spokesperson assures us that there is also no truth
to the claim that Florencia Lozano will soon be vacating the role of
legal ace Ta Delgado. In fact, the exact opposite appears to be true.
A big, upcoming storyline for Ta is presently in the works.
The the more alert "One Life" viewer will recall that, roughly a month
ago, the soap released a casting call for a "Justice of the Peace."
While "OLTL" has yet to reveal the name of the actor portraying the
role, we can tell you that he will be interacting in scenes on Monday
and Tuesday, July 6th and 7th, as a certain teen couple prepares to
tie the knot. But will they ultimately go through with it?
While on the subject of audition scripts, the latest (released late
last week), involves the character of "Barbara."
Scott Clifton (Schuyler Joplin) spilled last week on his Twitter page
that "One Life" is in the process of conducting another photo shoot.
In posts dated June 16th, Clifton reported that "At a location shoot
in Brooklyn. Sun setting behind the Statue of Liberty. Really great
view. (You won't see it on TV though)," and that "Okay, so, update on
the location shoot: I just learned that this warehouse is where they
shot 'Real World Brooklyn.' Any fans of that show?"

Gigi tells Rex all the dirt on Stacy, minutes after he's slept with
Stacy. Before Rex can react to the news, Stacy walks in. Rex then
tells Gigi that he and Stacy are together now and he doesn't care what
Gigi has to say. Gigi leaves Ultraviolet in tears. Rex later surprises
her and her place with a passionate kiss. John-Paul Lavoisier says Rex
tells Gigi that he has to string Stacy along until they find out who
the real bone marrow donor is so he needs to pretend to still like
Stacy. Rex decides to keep it a secret that he slept with Stacy
because he wants Gigi back and decides to just forget that he ever
slept with Stacy.
Fish runs into Kyle on his way to a date with Layla at Capricorn. Kyle
gloats to Fish that Natalie and Jared dropped the charges, but Fish
isn't impressed. Kyle says to Fish that he thought he, of all people,
would see that things aren't always as they seem. Fish distracts
himself by kissing Layla as the tension builds. Kyle sticks around the
bar. When is a drink is sent his way he says thanks, but there's
someone he has his eye on. Brett Claywell (Kyle) says it's not hard to
read between the lines.
Next week:
Dorian has her work cut out for her when she tries to convince Viki,
Charlie, Moe, and Shaun to attend the dinner party she's throwing to
try to make up for the trouble she caused for Langston with Markko's
parents. Meanwhile, Markko has his hands full persuading his parents
to attend the dinner.
Todd and Tea fall into bed, while Blair is bothered by their
closeness.
Stacy's up to her old tricks.
Starr prepares for her wedding.

The soap opera rumor mill has been in overdrive the last few weeks
with speculation about one of the upcoming twists at "One Life to
Live." This summer's steamiest storylines will be the tortured romance
between Officer Oliver Fish (Scott Evans) and conniving, yet oddly
loveable, Kyle Lewis (Brett Claywell). The story will primarily focus
on the journey of Fish as he struggles to come to terms with his own
personal truth.
Gay couples are nothing new to daytime fans -- and the enormous
popularity of Luke and Noah (Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann) on "As
The World Turns" is proof that audiences enjoy these characters.
However, this will be the first major gay storyline on "One Life to
Live" since Billy Douglas came out and subsequently catapulted Ryan
Phillippe to stardom. We're not forgetting Nora's dastardly politician
lover Daniel Colson, who was closeted and a psychopath -- but it's not
really the same thing.
Anyhow, Scott's been blabbing to AfterElton.com and The Advocate about
all the latest in Llanview. It seems Fish and Kyle shared more than a
bathroom at the KAD Frathouse. But is Fish really gay? What about his
dalliances with Stacy and his dating Layla? Is Fish bisexual? Why does
everyone think he's such a dork when, um, he's really attractive? So
many questions!
Don't expect Kyle to sit idly by while Oliver Fish faces his demons,
though. Word out of the Casting Office is that Nicholas Rodriguez has
been cast as the Latin Lover of Kyle's dreams. He'll be playing a
character by the name of, wait for it, Nick. Broadway fans may have
noticed him swinging around the rafters in that green dream of a show,
"Tarzan." So, yes, we've got a sexy love-triangle brewing for some
late-summer action.
**********
Jake Martin in Llanview? Well, not quite. However, Michael Lowry, who
played Jake from 1996 to 2000 on "All My Children" (and Les Sweeney on
"As The World Turns" from 2004 to '05) is returning to the world of
Agnes Nixon-created soaps later this summer as a character we've seen
before. He'll be landing smack dab in the middle of one of the biggest
stories on "One Life to Live" -- and we have a feeling there are
several people who will be less than pleased to see him (and maybe one
or two that will).
**********
Jared and Natalie return to their old ways.
Stacy has an unexpected visitor and ally.
Rex devises a plan to expose Stacy.
Starr plans her wedding.
Even though Todd can't put his feelings into words, he and Tea fall
into bed.
Blair doesn't like Todd and Tea's closeness.
John fights for Cole's freedom.
**********
Rex and Gigi join forces to hunt down the bone marrow donor. Farah
Fath says Rex and Gigi's problems are just starting. Rex isn't honest
with Gigi, and then it just snowballs. Then there's Schuyler, who
starts developing feelings for Gigi. FF says Schulyer will continue to
be there for Gigi while she's going through everything and while Rex
is new and improved, with Schuyler she doesn't have all the baggage.
FF says that she's looking forward to this triangle because on Days
she was always in a triangle with a guy and another girl but now her
character will be the center of a triangle.
Scott Evans talks about how Fish was first just brought on for the
Antonio/Talia story, but he then came back to be John's friend and
then the KAD stuff happened. He likes working with Brett Claywell
(Kyle). We will learn more about their past. When asked if Fish has a
crush on John SE says he thinks Fish just admires John.
Next week:
Rex continues searching for that bag of blood.
Starr prepares for her wedding.
Dorian tries to fix things between Langston and Markko's parents.
John will return to the police force if Bo and the judge meet certain
conditions.
Wednesday, July 1: Todd and Tea, Brody and Jessica, and one other
couple make love.
**********
July scoops:
A double wedding; lots of sex; and a kiss the fans have been waiting
for.
**********
Monday:
Gigi begs Rex to believe her story about Stacy.
Natalie and Jared become a thorn in Kyle's side.
John finds a solution that may prevent Cole from going to prison.
Tuesday:
Rex and Gigi are blisfully happy once again.
Natalie and Jared demand answers.
Stacy receives an unexpected surprise.
Bo becomes the third wheel when Nora invites him to join her and Clint
for the evening.
Wednesday:
Stacy isn't giving up Rex without a fight.
Todd and Ta prove you can't teach an old dog new tricks, as they get
up close and personal.
Jessica finds comfort in Brody's big, broad shoulders.
Thursday:
Starr makes the final preparations for her wedding day.
Dorian has her work cut out for her as she tries to get in Ernesto
Rivera's good graces.
Blair is uncomfortable with the bond between Todd and Ta.
**********
Clint suprises Bo by asking his brother to be his best man.
Greg's web of lies to little sister Destiny continue when he cancels
their dinner plans. Pretending to be examining Matthew's case file, he
is actually out on a date with his new associate, Dr. Wright. Later,
Shaun blasts Greg for disappointing Destiny. Meanwhile, Matthew and
Destiny enjoy the evening together.
After finding comfort in Brody's arms, he and Jessica spend the night
together. Jessica encourges Brody to apply to the police academy.
Fish encounters Kyle when he arrives early for his date with Layla at
Capricorn. Blair supects Cristian has the hots for Layla.
Natalie and Jared find time for a little lovin'.
Stacy interrupts the conversation just as Gigi asks Rex if he
understands just how evil Stacy really is. Not sure what to expect,
she is speechless when Rex proclaims his love for Stacy. As Gigi runs
away to Rodi's in tears, Stacy is surprised to learn that Rex failed
to mention their tryst to her. Later, however, Rex shows up on Gigi's
doorstep, where he plants a kiss on her. Meanwhile, Natalie and Jared
are intent on making sure Kyle follows through with his end of the
bargin. Even though he swears he has no idea who the donor is, Kyle
assures them that the person can be found in Room 302 at the Boutet
Clinic. At the same time, Roxy's day just keeps getting worse when she
is confronted by Nurse Gayle Collins at the clinic. In the heat of
battle, Gayle swipes the bag of blood Roxy was saving in case of an
emergency. Tempers flare futher when nurse nasty accuses Roxy of
turning off the patient's life support system. As Natalie, Jared, and
Kyle arrive on the scene, Gayle hightails it out of the clinic with
the bag of blood in tow. Shortly thereafter, Natalie and Jared
approach Roxy after Kyle informs them that she was in possession of
the extra supply of blood. Back at the cottage house, Rex explains his
actions to a confused Gigi. As he is about to reveal that he slept
with Stacy, Natalie and Jared arrive with disappointing news. Rex and
Gigi are devastated to learn that, should Shane suffer a relapse, they
would need to search for yet another donor. Moe minces no words when
he informs Stacy that Rex's heart will always belong to Gigi. Later,
Stacy is puzzled when Gayle hands her the extra bag of blood, and
claims that her new boss is on her side. Despite her protests, Rex
makes it clear to Gigi that he must fake it with Stacy until he can
figure out who the real donor is. After unsuccessfully searching his
apartment for the missing evidence, Rex keeps Stacy at arm's length
when she starts feeling frisky.
John states to Bo that he will return to the police force on the
condition that he allows Cole to go undercover to help bust up a drug
ring, instead of serving jail time. When Todd shows his true colors by
refusing to sign the consent form, Starr reminds her father of the
emotional plea he made at Hope's 'grave'. Seeing little harm in giving
his daugther what she wants (since the groom is going to jail anyway),
Todd gives in. Todd confesses to Ta that his feelings for her are
real, but that he is unable to put them into words. Despite their
recent bickering, Todd and Ta soon end up in bed together. Langston
assists Starr in her wedding preparations, while Marty gives Cole her
wedding ring. Addie listens as Blair explains why Todd spending the
night with Ta troubles her. In an action that will surely make
Blair's blood boil, Todd asks Ta to escort him to Starr and Cole's
wedding. John faces the difficult task of convincing a judge to see
his point-of-view regarding Cole. Dorian and Markko have their work
cut out for them as they each desperately try to persuade unwilling
participants to attend a dinner party at La Boulaie.
Next week:
Blair nearly blows her top when Ta arrives at Starr and Cole's
wedding.
Cole eases Starr's concerns.
John interrupts the ceremony with big news.
Markko arrives at a shocking decision.
Cristian demands Fish be honest with him.
Starr and Cole's walk down the aisle doesn't go quite as expected.
Gigi remains clueless to the fact that Rex and Stacy had sex.
**********
Gigi should be careful what she wishes for -- in this case, a reunion
with her estranged fiance Rex. She's finally spilled the beans about
Stacy's manipulations, and everything seems like it's getting back on
track. Except for the fact that Rex just slept with that stripper from
Hell ... and now he has to tell Gigi that he boinked her sister. He'd
better come clean fast, because a seemingly-smitten Schuyler might
just break the news to Llanview's favorite bar wench first. Will Rex
and Gigi split again before they've even gotten back together? And NOW
what will Shane think of his parents' bedroom habits?
Remember that bag of blood Roxy's been hiding just in case Shane ever
needs another transplant? Well, she didn't hide it well enough --
because the crazy nurse who's caring for the mystery donor pops back
into town to steal it. But she doesn't hang on to it for long -- she
drops it off at Stacy's Apartment of Doom ... which should give this
Nevada transplant a few aces up her sleeve as she continues to play
Texas Hold 'Em with Rex and Gigi. Who do you think will blink first?
What's a week in Llanview without a wedding? This time, it's the
rushed nuptials of Cole and Starr, who are trying to tie the knot
before Cole ends up in the slammer for the next couple of years. Starr
and Cole are over the moon, while Blair has come around to the idea.
But Todd? Well, that's a lot to ask.
Llanview's also about to get its newest (well, returning) Chief of
Detectives -- that man of few words, Mr. John McBain. Except he DOES
have a couple of words for Bo about what he wants in order to return
to the mean streets of Pennsylvania: keep Cole out of prison. John's
plan? To have Cole become an undercover agent and help the police bust
the teenage drug ring that's ruining so many precious lives. Will Bo
go for it? Will Cole?
All this, PLUS: Dorian presents certain Llanviewers with the
least-sought-after dinner invitation in history; Brody worries his
history of being institutionalized will hamper his efforts at becoming
a cop; Blair serenades Llanview with a torch song; and Fish takes
Layla on a date ... but has a revealing encounter with his old frat
buddy, Kyle.
On Friday, catch an encore presentation of the One Life episode where
Matthew and Cole get into a car accident.

John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) defends - albeit weakly - his character's
relationship with Nasty Stacy, saying that the con in her attracts him
because of his own old con days, but still agrees that his character
is "the dumbest character in daytime." Absolutely true. LaVoisier told
ABC Soaps In Depth that if he could drive cross country with any of
his co-stars, it would be Robert S. Woods (Bo) and "we'd stop at every
barwe'd have to hire a driver."
Speaking of Todd, Trevor St. John went off to Soap Opera Digest (June
23rd issue) about the show's merry-go-round romance for Blair and
Todd. St. John bemoans the endless cycle of on and off for the couple,
saying that he loves working with Kassie DePaiva, but please, please
stop repeating the same thing!!! We hear ya, bud. His on-screen
leading lady, DePaiva, has her own beef with the writing as of late.
She is frustrated that there is no emotional fall out from the
experiences Blair has. She laments that whether there's a bomb or a
rape or whatever, Blair can be up and singing in a nightclub the next
day as if nothing happened.
You heard right. Lionel Richie, former lead singer for The Commodores,
has taped a special performance fof his new song, "Just Go" for OLTL.
It will air the end of next month.
Far from the tormented Billy Douglas and the fiendishly murdering
Daniel Colson, it looks as though OLTL might actually explore a "real"
gay relationship as Fish (Scott Evans) and Kyle (Brett Claywell)
re-explore their gay relationship from college. Half of the couple
(Evans) is actually an openly gay actor and has played Fish as
straight so far. When Layla things something is up between them after
dating Fish, she's not at all mistaken.
Brandon Buddy (Cole) tells ABC Soaps In Depth (June 29th) that after
his more violent drug-induced scenes on the show, Kristen Alderson was
so freaked out that she wouldn't even walk with him after the scenes
were over. "That was a little weird," the actor said.
That's all for this week!

What's a guy to do? His girlfriend sleeps with her sorta-ex beau
Brody, not knowing that along she was being blackmailed by her Vegas
stripping evil sister, whom you know have a fateful dalliance
with,....only to find out that you were being duped all along! That's
the predicament Llanviews's Rex Balsom finds himself in key episodes
yesterday, today and this coming Monday.
So we went to one of daytime's most talented young actors, John Paul
Lavoisier for all the scoop, on how he has handled playing the misled
and sometimes ignorant Rex. John-Paul or JP as he is known by his
pals, fills me in on playing the beats of the storyline that has been
frustrating Gigi and Rex fans and long time One Life for months! Stacy
must be stopped, and JP tells me she's going to finally get what's
coming to her.
And what about the mysterious bag of blood, the real donor for Shane's
bone marrow transplant, and the reveal of who is really Rex's
biological father? We touch on that, too. Being a long-time admirer of
scenes between Robert S. Woods (Bo) and JP's, I wanted to know if he
felt the same. Great news, he does. You can read all about it.
As many soapers know JP is also romantically linked with his co-star
Farah Fath (Gigi), and he details the story of how they met, and how
it was love at first sight.
Funny, witty, and charming are just some of the adjectives used to
describe JP. Make sure to listen to him on the audio feature on top of
the transcript. His interview is now posted live in the "Global" New
This Month area of this website or click here to go directly to it!

John-Paul is also my guest in upcoming "Soap Breaks" airing in July on
XM 24 The Pink Channel, so you can catch him there, too.

A spiteful and vengeful Las Vegas stripper, a mysterious bag of blood,
and the shocking revelation by the woman you truly love that you have
been duped, set the stage for One Life to Live's Stacy/Rex/Gigi
storyline to explode! For months fans of the show have been very vocal
about their feelings towards the character Stacy's airtime, and her
machinations of favorite Llanview couple, Rex and Gigi. They want her
to get caught!
In a brand new interview with John-Paul Lavoisier, "OLTL's" Rex
Balsom, we discuss the normally street smart private investigator's
fall from grace, and how John-Paul navigated through this difficult
storyline, which has included his on-screen son, Shane's battle with
leukemia. Yesterday, Rex and Stacy finally did the deed, but Gigi was
on her way to tell Rex the sordid truth about her duplicitous sister,
Stacy. Will Rex finally believe Gigi and be reunited with his
sweetheart? John-Paul fills us in.
One of daytime's most talented younger actors also chats about working
with his other favorite scene partner, Robert S. Woods (Bo). John-Paul
or "JP" (as many know him by), also details how girlfriend Farah Fath
(Gigi) and he became an "item". Charming, unpredictable, witty and
funny here is JP!
MICHAEL:
Rex has been involved in this heavy story with Stacy, played by
Crystal Hunt. Fans have been upset that Rex seemingly has had no clue
that he is being duped.
JOHN-PAUL:
Rex is the dumbest he has ever been. He's confused, he's weak, and he
will pull at any line that has food on it at this point. He's a
starving little fish just swimming around. Gigi dumped him. She made
it look like she was with two guys. He had to walk in on her in bed
with another guy. Even though it was staged and it was all lies, in
Rex's eyes, it's all been the truth. So, the family he never had that
he always wanted, he had. It was stripped away from him, and he is
getting over his son having leukemia. Rex is coming off this huge
storyline where Rex, Gigi and Shane all were brought together as a
close family and everything like that, and it's ripped away. Stacy is
manipulating her way into his life and it's like he has these blinding
goggles on.
MICHAEL:
Rex is usually a smart private investigator and a guy who is very
street smart!
JOHN-PAUL
I would never hire Rex as a private investigator. (He laughs) I just
got done filming a scene today, where another big character on the
show hires me to be their private investigator down the line, and do
some PI work. I laughed, going "What is this person thinking? I should
be giving you a discount."
MICHAEL:
Has this storyline with Stacy been hard for you to play, JP?
JOHN-PAUL:
It's incredibly hard for me to play because it's far-fetched. Rex
sleeps with Stacy and it's such a mistake, and it's what's written.
It's where Rex's head is at the moment.
So, I have to commit to the material, but it is hard to play. I want
Rex to see through what Stacy is doing, but right now the way it is
being written,
he is not. Stacy is winning and Stacy is able to fake him out at least
for a moment. It probably is going to ruin his life down the line, and
even more so with the aftermath of the sex. I am doing my best.
MICHAEL:
You are aware at how upset the fans have been about Stacy machinations
of Rex and Gigi?
JOHN-PAUL
Everything I read on the Internet and talking to fans on the street,
all the fans are saying the same thing, "Somebody needs to kill Stacy.
Why can't Rex see through Stacy? Someone needs to kick her to the
curb." Everybody is on the same page, except Rex.
MICHAEL:
You and your on-screen love interest Farah Fath (Gigi) are a couple in
real life. During the storyline, were there times when the two of you
were at home together, when you were just like, "Now what can happen
with this story?"
JOHN-PAUL:
It's gotten to the point where we look at each other and give, "I
know, I know" looks, and we make a drink and play poker. (He laughs)
MICHAEL:
Rex comes up with a plan to nail Stacy. But he sleeps with her first,
and then he sets out to reallynail her?
JOHN-PAUL:
He sleeps with her and then he nails her. (He laughs) Gigi is
literally like three minutes too late to the party that Rex and Stacy
have. She finally comes to Ultra Violet to tell him the truth about
how she was never with Schuyler or Brody, and how they find out that
Stacy was not the stem cell donor, and everything like that. But
literally, he has just slept with Stacy. Nailing is involved, and
funny enough, we do it on dance mats. (He laughs) We do it on the
dance mats from a dance class that are left on the floor of Rex's
nightclub Ultra Violet. While they are doing it, Gigi is trying to
call Rex, but he's not picking up the phone. Later, we find out that
after they get off the mats and collect themselves, and pull their
clothes back on, and Stacy leaves, Rex finds his cell phone wedged
under the mats. So the mats muffled the ring tones, and he could not
find the phone, and so Gigi decides to just come over. She tells him
everything, and he is very happy, and has an "Oh, my God" moment, but
inside he is just flushed. He is like, "Oh, my God. Why could you have
not gone through those red lights on your way here? You almost got
here on time, but three minutes too late."
MICHAEL:
Now that Stacy has slept with Rex, is Stacy going to gloat about it to
Gigi?
JOHN-PAUL:
There is a huge up moment with Gigi and Rex coming together, and their
plan to nail Stacy. Then, Rex tells Gigi that we have to lie and play
to Stacy, to make her think that Rex is still into her, because if she
is not the bone marrow donor, then she must be hiding an extra bag of
blood from the actual donor. She must be hiding it somewhere. We might
need that, in case Shane needs another transplant. So, Rex has to
continue to live with Stacy and pretend that he is into her until he
can find the bag of blood.
MICHAEL:
Since Rex is on to Stacy, he won't soon fall back into Stacy's grip?
JOHN-PAUL:
I think there might be forced kisses along the way, but there is not a
sexy time that I know of.
MICHAEL:
I love your work with Robert Woods (Bo).
Will there be more interaction and upcoming scenes between Rex and Bo?
JOHN-PAUL:
Yes, there will be. I loved the show that aired recently where Rex and
Stacy were at the country club and charging things, and they get
arrested. After they get arrested and taken to Bo's police station,
Rex is handcuffed wearing only his bathing suit in the police station,
and its fantastic! (He laughs)
MICHAEL:
You are wearing fewer clothes now than ever?
JOHN-PAUL:
I know. In the script it said, "Rex wears Speedos," but it ended up
being shorts. Look, if I had to work with Bob Woods's everyday, I
would never complain. It's great!
MICHAEL:
Why does it work so well between the two of you?
JOHN-PAUL:
John-Paul likes working with Bob. I guess, if you like each other in
real life it can roll over. Also, Bob is the older guy and I am the
younger guy. Rex is like this little spitfire and Bo is very
professional. Bo has things in his past that draw them together, like
his son Drew. Bo can see where Rex is coming from, and Bo is the
father Rex never had. Rex actually listens to Bo and takes advice from
him. Yet, every now and then, Rex screws up along the way, and Bo has
to slap him a little bit and go, "What the hell did I teach you all
these years?" It's just fun stuff, and they write it so well.
MICHAEL:
Is Rex's dad in room 302 in the Boutet Clinic? That's the room where
the guy Roxy pulled the plug on inhabited, who seems to be Shane's
real blood donor. Isn't it time we find out who Rex's dad truly is?
JOHN-PAUL:
I know nothing. I just know that something is trying to be worked out
and something has to be coming. It's been discussed so much, and too
many fans have wanted to know who it is, and all the actors want to
know who the hell it is. So, I can promise this ball will not be
dropped. But, I just don't know when or who it will be.
MICHAEL:
There have been some red herrings along the way. But Roxy keeps
changing her story!
JOHN-PAUL:
Finally, he will get answers out of Roxy. It's like "Is my dad dead or
not?" T hen he believes her, and then he finds out she has been lying.
Like at one point, Charlie Banks was supposed to be the dad. T here
have been so many ups and downs with his father thing that to finally
get the answer and to move forward with Roxy, and to give Shane a
grandfather, will be interesting. So many people on the canvas will be
affected. I have heard people thinking it could be Mitch Laurence, and
recently I heard Spencer Truman on the Internet. This is on fan boards
and stuff, not from anyone here. So, I don't know.
MICHAEL:
Farah and you met originally in the hallway at One Life to Live. When
did you know, "I am really attracted to this girl?"
JOHN-PAUL:
We hit it off right away. Fortunately, I think what was on my side was
that Farah did not know anybody in New York, and I know everything
about New York. I feel if she had more friends in town, or knew the
town better, I feel we probably wouldn't have hung out. So thank God
she was from Los Angeles. Sparks flew right away. Farah worked here
for a while in the first two months, mostly with Erika Slezak (Viki)
in scenes at the Bon Jour Caf. We would only see each other in the
hallway from time to time. The first day we worked together we had two
full shows running lines, and from that moment on was when the
attraction really started. Yes, there was that funny run-in in the
hallway. I was in body make-up. She was cute and had noticed me. She
said to herself, "I need to introduce myself to this guy." And she
goes, "Hi. I am Farah and I play Gigi." I go, "Hi. I'm JP." First of
all, she felt it was weird because she loved my name John-Paul and
when I said my name was JP, she was like, "Oh, I like John-Paul. Why
does he call himself JP?" She only likes to call me John-Paul, by the
way. She said she walked away from that introduction thinking, "I bet
he thinks I am an under-five or a day player. Maybe, he did not know
that I am going to be working with him, and that we have a storyline
together." But I knew, but she felt maybe I didn't. But, I thought
that was cute!
MICHAEL:
At ABC Super Soap Weekend, you had been the host of The Colgate Triple
Play Game Show. Would you ever emcee a television game show, because
you were so good at it and very comfortable?
JOHN-PAUL:
I loved doing that. I would have done nothing but the Colgate Triple
Play that weekend. I would have done 12 a day and lived in that
theatre the whole time, like Bob Guiney lived in his theatre. It was
so much fun, and the fans were great. I could have kept going and I
throw my voice out every year! For some reason, I don't get used to
the fact that I am mic'd. I keep thinking I have to reach the back of
my house with my formal voice. Like Deal or No Deal. If Howie Mandel's
ever sick I would fill in,
in a minute.
MICHAEL:
In closing, it's going to be one hot July for Rex. What can we expect
from Rex in the month ahead?
JOHN-PAUL:
In the future, he will be fathered, be intelligent, and be a husband
to Gigi.that would be great. Hopefully, I will become Mr. Morasco
soon! (He laughs)
