All I thought was, go away Mannings. Well, RH and KdP I don't mind.
It's that other one who is going to take this show down, way down. I
sympathize with how you're feeling, though. Jesse from AMC has shown
up on Y&R as a physical therapist. It makes it seem so final, doesn't
it?

I'm getting the idea that "Starr" wasn't very popular with OLTL fans.
I hadn't watched that show since since the character was a spoiled
bratty little girl. I remember when she was born. There was a scene
where Cassie stood in a window looking up at the stars and decided
that (wherever he was) Todd could see the stars too so she would name
her little girl "Starr". Could someone tell me whether it's the
character or the actress that brings such strong negative reactions to
her showing up on GH?

I think it could be both. Years ago there was a soap called Another World
that was canceled. ATWT was kind of a sister soap and they brought some of
the characters and actors on. There was a lot of griping and complaints from
the ATWT viewers. Now that the soaps have dwindled to four the
protectiveness for ones soap is even more. I feel bad for the OLTL fans,
I only watched for a few years. If bringing Starr and her family will help
GH I think that is a good thing. We don't want to lose another soap.

Speaking for myself, it's the actress. And now her lifetime job
security continues, even though her soap was cancelled. Amazing.

I recall the naming of Starr a bit differently. I remember Blair
finding a note or card from Todd, with a message about a star. That's
how the name was decided. In my mind I can see Blair saying that's
what we will call her, Starr. LOL memories fade with age tho'.

I'm not watching GH, am missing OLTL. My lunch time is now more
variable, instead of dashing around in time to sit down @ 1:00 pm for
OLTL. Kristen(?) who plays Starr is an amazing actress given her
youth. I think in some ways she was shown as a teen know-it-all, and
perhaps that didn't go over well.

Maybe Starr's name origin is a little of your memory and a little of
mine. As I said I haven't watched since Starr was a little girl so my
memory is more than a bit hazy. Do you remember where Todd was? I seem
to recall that Blair didn't really know and that she went through the
pregnancy alone for the most part.

I suppose I could do like Radioguy and look up all the details in the
computer archives but I prefer swapping memories.

The older Starr got, the less obnoxious and disrespectful she became.
What I had a problem with was how they made her the romantic lead and
tried to turn her into some sort of vixen, and asked us to suspend our
disbelief when every guy she met fell for her (please . . .). I'm
wondering if GH will be the same way. I really wish they had recast
her years ago. Once she was no longer a child it was really a joke
that she could have come from Blair and Todd. Too short and too
ugly. But as I said, she has lifetime job security, and I'm not sure
why that is.

It could be either memory. Anything is possible. I think Todd might have been in Ireland, but can't recall the circumstances of that. I 'remember' that Blair found that note, or a letter w/Todd calling their child a star, and she said to herself "that's what I'll call her" or words to that effect.

I recall their wedding reception in the penthouse, and the golden balloons falling from the ceiling. Todd had the long hair and looked pretty bad IMHO lol. I think he had Moose the parrot then. He used to talk to Moose and throw food into his mouth.

Don't know how much sense that makes even to me ;) Just from my memory of long ago. This post has maybe caused more confusion for you?

Thanks, that explains it for me. Refresh my memory about Todd. I see
that it's Roger Howart (sp?) who's coming to GH as Todd but wasn't
that character recast some years ago? I loved Roger in the role and
when I tuned in once or twice, the other guy just didn't fit for me.
Oh, oh! I just had a flash of Nathan Fillion's Joey having an affair
with Robin Strasser's Dorian, who was old enough to be his mother!
Eww. All this talk of the OLTL characters coming to GH is making me
nostalgic!

The short version is that the other Todd really was Victor Lord Jr., and
he and Todd were previously unknown twins. Their mother kept the real
Todd prisoner for years while Victor - brainwashed and with a face
altered by plastic surgery - took his place.

And yes, it was as dopey as it sounded. I actually was in the camp who
preferred nuTodd - now known as Victor - and wouldn't mind if he showed
up in Port Chuckles.
