I thought there might be more activity here due to the DVD sets.
Oh well, maybe this group is populated by a bunch of Marilyn clones.
Now I know how Dr. Fleischman felt when he arrived in Alaska.
I'm from Queens, NY to boot. I'm not Jewish Though. I *am*
circumcised! What? Too much info? Sorry.
For what it's worth, my favorite episode is "The Final Frontier"
My second favorite is "Seoul Mates"
Although I have more in common with Joel, my favorite character is
Maurice. I love his backhanded compliments and his obliviousness at
how insulting he is.
My least favorite characters are Adam and Mike Monroe. I find them
incredibly annoying.
I guess I'll just go get a drink at The Brick til someone shows up
here...
I am honored to be welcomed by the legendary Moosechick. I have
checked out your web site many times. Assuming you're the same
Moosechick! Speaking of which, someone pointed out that there is
another northern exposure group called alt.tv.northern-exp. i have
posted a couple of messages there too. If we combined the two groups
we may soon qualify for "low activity!" heh heh
I only watched the show off and on when it was on the air. I only
really started to get into "Northern Exposure" when they started
showing re-runs on the Hallmark channel several years ago.
> Traffic ebbs and flows here. Maybe everyone is out prepping for the
> ice breaking. :-)
Heh heh. Actually bracing ourselves for more snow here in NYC
tonight. "Spring Break" is one of my favorite early episodes. Strange
how the annual events in Cicely seemed to change from season to
season. Like the Thanksgiving epiosde where Joel gets pelted with
tomatoes. When I first saw that I was, like- where was Joel *last*
Thanksgiving?
> I have five favorites: Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights, Hello I Love
> You, Dinner at seven-Thirty and Shofar, So good.
I used to confuse "Aurora Borealis" with "Northern Lights" and with
"The Final Frontier" but "The Final Frontier" is my favorite. The last
scene with Holling at Jesse's grave always gets me choked up. I'm glad
they kept the Enya song for the DVD.
> I am from Colorado but my parents are both native New Yorkers.
> I am female, thereffore have everything I was born with ;-)
Which gets me back to the Hallmark Channel. I thought it odd that this
netwrok carried the show. I never really considered NE to be family
entertainment- esp. with episodes like Holling considering *his*
circumcision.
> Shelly is my favorite character. I didn't really like the Capras
Neither did Chris! The Capras had a thankless job!
