Assuming it's true, it wouldn't be THAT surprising - most Nicktoons
only have contracts for 50-60 episodes. CatDog, for example, only has
five unaired (in the USA, anyway) episodes left, and Hey Arnold! has
nine (although Nick recently commissioned three more).
(Strange that SBSP wouldn't be renewed - it's supposed to be one of
Nick's "hot properties".)
Invader Zim is a bit new to be in any danger of cancellation...
although the story might explain why there have only been three new
episodes of The Fairly Oddparents (and "new" is stretching it, as the
stories seem to have been made in 1999, except for the "Crimson Chin"
bits taken from the nick.com animations).
Also, any "void" that Klasky-Csupo can't handle might be filled by
Nick's new deal with Nelvana - there have to be more toons where
Pelswick came from.

But I think I'll wait until I see the "FOR SALE: Animation Studio in
Burbank" ads before worrying about the end of "Nickelodeon animation"
OMG!!! They can't do that! I don't care what anyone thinks. I'm seriously
scared. Without Zim, I don't think I could go on.

I read it. I'm shocked. All the times "SpongeBob" made the
Top 20 cable shows in recent weeks, and they have to stab his
loyal fans in the back like this.

whoa...
I actually LIKED Spongebob too. For that matter, so do a bunch of
other people, and with such a large fanbase I can't believe Nick would
do that. Not to mention that there was a whole Spongebob ad campaign
for Target a few months ago.
Many Target stores still have a display up for SpoongeBob accessories, at least, a couple of weeks back.
And now in stores, a new SpongeBob computer game for Windows.
I don't watch the show regularly, but still, SpongeBob is Nick's greatest cash cow behind Rugrats, but they cancel the show
anyway. Sometimes I wonder about the IQ scores of Nick's staffers.

"Anyway, to clear up the newest rumors, yes, Nick is making cuts, and
it's not yet clear how it'll affect ME, but the stopping of
Spongebob's production is coming from creator Steve Hillenberg's
personal choice, not ratings or money issues. Nick would make more if
they could, and are calling it a "hiatus" and waiting to see if
Steve'll change his mind and agree to do more."

I KNEW Nick wouldn't do something that stupid. They're not COMPLETELY insane.
Hey Kim, Can I report that quote to Toonzone?
No, that's okay. I'm Vince from Toon Zone and I've already spoken with someone
at the network, as well as a fellow reporter, who spoke with an animator on
Invader Zim. We posted the reason for cancellation yesterday or the day before
that I believe in a seperate news post. I'm hoping to have some updates on
other Nicktoons soon.
Thanks!

Correct. And it wasn't the first time, either -- "Rocko's Modern Life" also got axed by its creator, Joe Murray, when he
wanted to take some time off from animation.
