Now, for the biggie. All That's new cast and look. I'm glad they kept the theme
song, but they really should've kept with the Vital Information bit. Instead of
having full sketches, there are quite a few bits taking up the twenty-two
mintues.
All in all, The new All That is enh. I'll have to watch more to get more of a
opinion. Oh yeah, and one more thing: The sexual humor on TAS and AT is way
more broad. Mouth to ball resucutation? The pickles? Kyle Sullivan kissing
Frankie Muniz? The TAS guard dreaming about Sigfreid and Roy? The crack addict
in the Blockblister sketch? (That didn't have to do anything with sex, but you
know.)
"Taina" deserves to be in SNICK -- it's getting to be a top flight
production
all the way.

Well, consider that two of the guys that drove this bus for many years,
Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, are now gone, and I guess their
intellectual property is too. So instead of courting trouble, they
decided to make Dan Schneider the big kahuna and have him basically
guide the show into a new direction. Can you imagine something like
"Sugar and Coffee" with Amanda and Drake as the leads on "The Amanda
Show"? A lot of this stuff looked like it could have been written for TAS
then modified for "All That".
You said nothing about Nick Cannon -- I like how his show is more
or less a "cinema verite" spoof, and it's an interesting format for him.
But of course, he's making movies now too, so who knows how
many more seasons of this we're goona get from him?

Nick Cannon wasn't much worse than any of the other shows that were
on, but the lack of an uproarious laugh track made it seem like it
was. As silly as that sounds, it makes a difference (mainly by telling
us "hey, this is a joke", rather than making us decide by ourselves).

wow, that was quick, Nick UK are airing that episode of the Amanda
show at this very moment :) (guard dreaming of Sigfried and Roy, Drug
Addict in Blockblister)

The producers of The Nick Cannon Show have really done some
interesting things. Not only do they use real people and real places,
but they also mix in actors as well. So well is it put together that
this mixing of real people and actors is seamless. Oftentimes I
couldn't tell which was which.
There also seems to be a mixing of visual mediums since they use video
tape and film throughout the show. There's a lot of hand-held stuff
and it works very, very well.
Nick Cannon also plays a lot of characters in this show. In the first
epsiode he played: his grandmother, his grandfather, and a wierd guy
named Spunkle (a Flava Flav type of character).
Spunkle has this character tick where he says "Yo B" almost every
other sentence. Since I was watching this with some of my friends, we
quickly ceased upon this as an opportunity to create a drinking game.
Everytime Spunkle said "Yo B" we would have to take a swig of beer.
Sorry Nickelodeon, I know that's not what you had in mind.
Each week, Nick Cannon is supposed to take over something different
and bring in different guest stars. This past Saturday night, he had
on Master P. The Los Angeles Times mentioned Eddie Murphy and Britney
Spears will be among many celebrities to make an appearance. I'm
definitely tuning in to see what other episodes bring.
