P.S. I'm still interested in getting my hands on a copy of all the episodes.
I'm willing to compensate for it, but I refuse to be scammed by a NON fan out
to make a quick buck. I'm hoping someone can do me a favor, and I am willing to
refund all costs and financially thank them for the assistance. I think $100 is
fair for a good copy of EVERY episode from the beginning of Season One up to
and including the end of Season Four. (With or w/out commercials, but the
episodes have to be complete and hopefully be in order of air date, EP mode is
fine.)
Jeez... now I sound like a cranky salesman... Sorry. I'm just REALLY hoping to
get my hands on those tapes... I know that when Syndication hits, they will
edit out a few minutes of each show. (All the more time to show more local car
ads and promos for the local "Action News Team"...with new Action Copter 7!)
Yep, that was Ron Jeremy.

(1) Yes that was Ron Jeremy.
(2) I purchased all NewsRadio episodes last summer from some guy on the
internet. I was a bit nervous to do it, but since I could pay COD, I thought
it was safe. Plus, he said he was doing this as a service to people who loved
TV and wasn't trying to make money off of it. I received complete tapes of
Seasons 1, 2, and 3 (on four videotapes in EP mode) and it only cost $40.
Anyway, I don't know if he still does this, and I no longer have an address for
his website, but I do have his e-mail address: rsat...@juno.com. His name
is Rob Satonica. His website did mention the viewing quality of each season of
shows that he had available (there were TONS of different shows). I do know
that his copies of seasons 1 & 2 are a bit "rough" looking, but they are
definitely worth buying, especially since they're commercial-free!
I didn't start watching NR until late in the 2nd season, so I had a GREAT time
when my NR tapes arrived in the mail last summer. I think I watched all
episodes from season 1 and 2 in only TWO days! :)

You're right. I'm I'm remembering correctly, someone (can't remember who)
here on the newsgroup pointed that out the first time it aired, and it was
subsequently confirmed in some semi-official fashion.

2. I would be very careful about purchasing those tapes, and admitting to
it publicly. What this guy is doing is extremely illegal, and NBC and/or
Brillstein-Grey would have grounds for a massive lawsuit. Those shows are
protected by copyright, and the fact that he is selling tapes of episodes of
NewsRadio is against the law, regardless of his reason for doing it. So if
anyone else out there has purchased those tapes, don't admit to it on the
internet! And if anyone is thinking about buying them, I would be verrrry
careful! Producers, artists and distributors do not look kindly on this
sort of thing, and tend to unleash all their legal fury on those committing
the offence.
Just some friendly advice.

I actually had NO idea who Ron Jeremy even was. It was brought up the first
time the episode aired and then again when it just repeated. When I found out
what he did for a living, I was shocked, considering how "creepy" I think he
looks! :)

Thanks for the advice. I guess I never thought of it as being illegal. .I
just thought of it as a great way to see the episodes that I missed the first
time around. Not that this probably makes any difference, but the guy said
that he was just charging for his own costs of the actual videotapes and
shipping. I'm sure he probably never thought about the fact that it may be
illegal.

Ditto. A friend of mine refused to believe I didn't know who Ron Jeremy
was...and then when he told me and showed me his website, I was a little
disturbed. But whatever...to each their own.
I wonder if he knows that Ron Jeremy was on NEWSRADIO...

Does anybody know WHY Ron Jeremy was on the set? Is he friends with one of the
writers or producers? I just think that's hysterical.
Next thing you know, they'll have Ed Powers on the show. (If you don't know,
don't worry....)

Well, 'cause he's a big fat hairy man? Actually, I have never had the... er..
misfortune to have seen one of his films, but he has been on Conan O'Brien once
or twice, and I've actually seen an interview or two with him. Freaky eh? Once
you've seen him, he's hard to forget.

His nickname is the Hedgehog and I will admit to seeing him in some films. He is actually kind
of funny and one of the better "actors" in the porn industry. He is also well-endowed and even
with that stomach of his, can bend over enough to umm, orally satisfy himself. Try and get THAT
picture out of your mind.

It's interesting how once I found out who Ron Jeremy was (from the first airing
of the NR episode and the discussion that followed in this newsgroup), I've
seen him everywhere! I've seen him interviewed on TV and he was recently
interviewed on an LA radio station. Something that I heard him say on the
radio will probably gross everyone out more than your information. The DJs
heard about a film he just finished (?) that's called, "Still Doing it at 84"
or something like that. Yes, it's as gross as you'd imagine...Ron said he's in
the film doing it with an 84 year old woman. I think he said he'd do anything
for the right amount of money. Excuse me while I go throw up.
i've never seen him...um..."act"...but, i've read a few interviews with him and
he's always struck me as a pretty hilarious guy. but, i always got a little
creeped out by some of the things that he would say. i don't know. even the
name, "the hedgehog" just really gives me the shivers. ick.

Hell, I'm impressed that he would ever leave the house.

err, be lucky you didn't see any of his .."films" <g>... ::shudder::
he was also in at least one trashy "movie"... about.. um.. a nude volleyball

Here's the closest thing you're gonna get to a definitive answer:
The reason Ron Jeremy appeared on newsradio (and in b-movies, music
videos, etc.) is that:
1) He has some amount of notoriety in the industry and
2a)He knows how to self-promote or
2b)He has a good agent.
BTW, may I suggest you check out Mr. Jeremy in "The Flintbones"? A
magnificent orgy of over-the-hill porn stars, bad costumes, corny jokes
and cardboard caves.

Nah.. he just happened to be in the audience that night.. was an accident..

Wow, so Ron Jeremy is a real live NewsRadio fan huh? Wow, who woulda
thought?... Though I guess actually being on the show might say something...
*still*... he actually took time out of his busy sex film making schedule to go
see NewsRadio. ;)

I think the word male itself will suffice.

Two things: One, I was not the one who asked the question. I attempted to
answer it with John Tesh, and I stand by my answer. Two, not all males are
whores. I have tried to be a whore all my life, and failed miserably. Oh
well.
When one thinks fat men in porn, one MUST think Ron.
