event is expected to develop a successor to the controversial Kyoto

3. LIVING OUT LOUD:
This afternoon on Living Out Loud…a look at war – from the perspective
of soldiers. Last week’s program explored the wars of Canada’s past…
this week, it’s a look at the present with stories from troops who’ve
been stationed over in Afghanistan. Host Robin Brown hears the
personal experiences of four Canadian soldiers…two from reserves…two
from the regular forces. They’ll talk about why they went, the
battles they fought and what they believe they were fighting for.
While they didn’t serve together…they have one thing in common. As the
program discovers, they all came back wounded in some way.

4. CANADA LIVE:
Canada Live wraps up its tribute to musical families this week with a
stunning performance by Canada’s most celebrated harmonious clan…The
Rankins. These four sweet-sounding siblings from Cape Breton released
their first recording in 1989 …and quickly rose to fame as The Rankin
Family. They recently played across Canada on a reunion tour in
support of their new CD release These Are The Moments. On today’s
show, The Rankin Family concludes that special tour with a hometown
concert at Halifax’s Metro Centre. They dazzle and deliver on stage,
before an adoring audience of over 5,000…and prove why they’re one of
Canada’s most popular exports.

5. IDEAS:
This evening, IDEAS finds out why the centuries-old Jesuit saying,

true in more ways than the religious order could have imagined. The
show will explore recent research on brain development, human biology
and behaviour…and discover how new findings are showing that early
experience can affect people’s health and well-being for the rest of
their lives. Author Jill Eisen joins the program with a report on how
even so-called “life-style” illnesses - like heart disease and
diabetes - may have their roots in early childhood.
