Top 5 Reasons Why I Hate The CBC

1) It's Dishonest
The CBC masquerades as the "people's network" when in fact it has been
totally taken over by the corporate rulers in our land. While on the one
hand it is supported financially by Canadian taxpayers on the other, it is
bought and paid for by the corporate elite who control Canada's economy and
politics. I can certainly live with corporate propaganda machines like the
CTV or Globe and Mail, because they are honest about where they are coming
from. The CBC is dishonest and has become nothing more than a purveyor of
the most insidious type of propaganda because it so slickly hides its true
mission.
2) It's Narrow In Scope
The CBC has yet to learn what the definition of the word "politics" means.
Its idea of politics is so narrowly defined as being what takes place
within the parliament of Canada and its "major" political parties. This
narrowing of the democratic process within Canada is perpetuated by the
ruling class's main Canadian mouth piece, the CBC.
3) It's A Tool of The Liberal Party of Canada
Liberalism is the predominant ideology within Canada today and there
certainly isn't a more liberal organ than the CBC. Its political slant is
always to what it defines as the "middle ground" of Canada's political
spectrum. The Conservatives are always portrayed as too far right from this
middle and the NDP as being too far left. The unspoken conclusions one has
to reach if the CBC is ones main source of social or political
understanding is that the Liberal Party of Canada is the only serious party
Canadians should be supporting.
4) It Runs The Most Obscene Commercials
The most obscene commercials on TV are those run by the Christian Children's
Fund and the CBC runs them continuously every day of the week. Enough said,
excuse me while I go and puke again.
5) It's Irrelevant
It doesn't provide us with news, it provides us with small-l liberal
propaganda. It's commentators and journalists all come out of the same
sickly mold. Anyone wishing to get any kind of real analysis of events
within the world today is forced to look at the alternative media because
you won't find it at the CBC.
Conclusion
The CBC should be forced to shit or get off the pot. Either it's going to
play the role of being a public broadcaster supported totally by taxpayer
dollars and provide a voice for alternative and dissenting views or play an
honest and true role of being a private corporation that should be totally
privatized with no further tax dollar support.
Personally, I'd prefer the latter as that would be more in keeping with the
CBC's contents and editorial perspectives. If the CBC is going to be part
of the ruling class's strategy of dummying down Canadian society, let it go
out into the free market economy it so obviously supports and let the
marketplace decide whether this tripe it broadcasts should be continually
supported. If nothing else, it would make the CBC an honest propagandist.
