NCIS: 'Bionic Woman' Lindsay Wagner to Play Bishop's Mom During Sweeps

By Matt Webb Mitovich / October 22 2015, 11:48 AM PDT

Somewhere, Jaime Sommers’ enhanced right ear is burning.

TVLine has learned that TV’s erstwhile Bionic Woman, Lindsay Wagner,
will guest-star on CBS’ NCIS — as Agent Ellie Bishop’s mother.

Wagner will appear in the most watched drama’s final sweeps outing,
airing Tuesday, Nov. 24, when Bishop has cause to take a
Thanksgiving-time trip back home to Oklahoma.

“I’m super excited about it, because I’m a huge Lindsay Wagner fan going
back to The Paper Chase,” NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg told us. “Also,
a bunch of our line producers worked on The Rockford Files, and not many
people know this but she was actually in that pilot. So there is all
kinds of behind-the-scenes enthusiasm. And Lindsay is excited, too.”

In addition to her three-season (and really fast!) run as The Bionic
Woman (and the trio of TV-moves it spawned), Wagner’s more recent TV
credits include episodes of Warehouse 13 and Alphas.

I wonder if this means something's about to happen to Jake, her husband...
especially considering that they're supposed to be having "issues" at present...

BTW, the "Frogette" episode is 11/10.

Very bad idea to kill off or otherwise put Jake out of the picture in order to "free
up" Bishop's romantic life, especially if it involves DiNozzo. I think that would be
a big shark jump for NCIS.

Of course, Bishop could decide she needed to be back with her mother in OK and
stretch that Thanksgiving visit into forever. ;)

I wasn't thinking DiNozzo. I think Tony has learned his lesson about that. I was just
thinking "dramatic trauma" for Bishop to deal with. I think whatever Tony does, he'll
do with someone outside the team.

And... since Ziva's now outside the team.... ;-PPP

True, and she could be going there because Jake is going to be overseas during the
holiday...

Being from OK myself, it makes me feel weird to see the OSU stuff behind
her desk. My daughter graduated from OSU in Stillwater in 2000. At
least they had the picture of Pistol Pete correct!

I hope neither of you were directly affected by the recent issues in Stillwater.

I know a little of Stilwater, as one of my favorite Competitive BBQ teams is
out of Stillwater. The other is from Marietta.

My daughter lives in OKC now and I live in Leander, TX, outside Austin.
It always seems these things happen in college towns.

Wait a sec. "Sweeps week" is still a thing?

Nielsen conducts a number of sweeps each year, but there are 4 main ones for network
TV. Each of those runs for 4 weeks. Among other things, sweeps help determine what
networks and stations can charge for advertising on their shows.

Fall 2015 Sweeps Oct 29 - Nov 25
Winter 2016 Sweeps Feb 4 - Mar 2
Spring 2016 Sweeps Apr 28 - May 25
Summer 2016 Sweeps Jun 30 - Jul 27

By the way, the BBQ place in Stillwater is "Twin Oaks Smokin' Crew..." Bart Clarke is the owner.
