This will be the show's final season. They're trying to develop an
NCIS:Hawaii show and this would be a good reason for it. Both NCIS and
NCIS:LA are older shows and probably don't have that much life left in
them. But with over 150 episodes it would still be considered a
successful show.

Also, there is a strong rumor that CBS is developing a new Star Trek series and have
tapped Scott Bakula to star. If that's the case, it's easy to understand why they
would cancel the show. No Dwayne Pride, no NCIS: NO.

I think the rumor came about because he would become available. Given
the choice, NCIS would be the better show to stay with since the pay
would be better and it's a broadcast show whereas the Star Trek show
would likely be a streaming show with fewer episodes and probably less
pay. And if it's a limited run show he could work it into breaks from
NCIS. I think they may have found that filming NCIS:NOLA right now was
too much trouble and too restrictive for their show to keep doing it.

It is the weakest performing NCIS show, however that might have much to
do with it's timeslot. It's doing worse than the Friday shows so ratings
may play a factor.

I became interested in the NCIS franchise midway through NCIS.
I went to our local library and started watching from the beginning and
saw them adding cast and losing others. I was blown away by the way some
left (Kate). I started watching NCIS:LA when it debuted but stopped
shortly after. The tie-in from the original and the length they made the
relationships seemed phony to me.
But when NOLA hit the screen, I was all in.
The city, the music, the atmosphere..
But it was tough to watch. Right off the top, they had staffing
problems. Just when you started thinking "Okay, this is the team", it
wasn't.
I still watch both versions. I'm lucky to live in a part of Canada that
has access to almost daily repeats of all the shows. Every once in a
while, they will broadcast the original NCIS aboard Air Force One and it
reminds me how fortunate they are that Dr. Mallard has lived this long.

just a fan's memories. Carry on.

That show jumped the shark some time ago and has gone past its prime.

There are a number of shows on all the networks that are either in limbo or outright cancelled because of production delays. Stumptown on ABC among others got the chop because they couldn't deliver episodes until well into 2022.

I lost track of NCIS:NOLA when it got moved then seemed to go on a long hiatus. You are probably right about its timeslot being in play.

if you're going to be in NOLA, NOLA should be a character that shows up in various scenes - and it hasn't been. the pandemic has been a factor, unfortunately. but it might as well be NCIS: peoria. (with all due respect to peoria, <yawn>)

NCIS: hawaii?

maybe they'll cast some asian males? seriously, since its inception, i have yet to recall a single NCIS episode where an asian male was cast as a normal good guy - but that didn't stop them from having an asian female in leopard underwear having the hots for the geeky palmer. it's slowly changing, but in mainstream film/TV if you see an asian male, one or more of the following categories typically apply:

- speaks with an accent;
- is a gang/triad member and knows martial arts;
- pursues an alternative lifestyle;

NCIS: Hawaii will be headed by a woman, Jane Tennant. She will be played by Vanessa
Lachey, 40, wife of Nick Lachey. Yasmine Al-Bustami, ~21, will play Lucy, junior
member of the team. She looks a bit like Ziva. Jason Antoon, 49, will play Ernie, a
Cyber Intelligence Specialist. Yasmine is technically Asian since she was born in
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. But it's Eastern Asians who are usually associated
with Hawaii. Other cast members are yet to be announced.
