Actor David McCallum, who became a teen heartthrob in the hit series The
Man From U.N.C.L.E. in the 1960s and was the eccentric medical examiner in
the popular NCIS 40 years later, has died. He was 90.
McCallum died Monday of natural causes surrounded by family at New York
Presbyterian Hospital, CBS said in a statement.
'David was a gifted actor and author, and beloved by many around the
world. He led an incredible life, and his legacy will forever live on
through his family and the countless hours on film and television that
will never go away,' CBS said in a statement.

Awww.... So sorry to hear this news. I've enjoyed his performances
over the years. Even his occasional stops by NCIS over the last few
years since he quit being a regular on the show.

Very sad news. He lifted every episode of NCIS he was in. He'll be missed.

Everybody is going to be talking about UNCLE, of course, but I want to
mention his appearance in the original Outer Limits episode "The Sixth
Finger," in which he was nothing short of brilliant.
Good work, every time. Bravissimo, sir.

We probably would’ve gotten to see him a few more times if it wasn’t for
the rotten, lazy, greedy, crooked writers Guild.

Sixth finger was one of the best. The form of things unknown was one of the
weirdest and worst.
There’s also his all but forgotten invisible Man series.
I watched all eight uncle movies a couple days ago for the anniversary of
the show. I think maybe I’ll settle in with Around the World under the Sea
tonight.

That's probably the show of his that I saw the most. I've never seen
much of The Man From UNCLE or NCIS, and Sapphire & Steel was simply too
weird.
