In the geek code there is a code for Star Treck, Babylon 5 and Jeopardy
but not for fans of Married With Children.
What do you think of including a "mw" or "mwc" code into the geek code ?
Here is my first (Beta-) proposal :
-----cut here -----------------------------------------------------
Married With Children
mw+++ I hate red hair, i hate sex, i am hungry:
I AM Al Bundy !
mw++ I never missed a show, and i allways laugh
when the laughter comes from the tape
mw+ It's a funny show and as good as "Where's the boss"
mw I am (will be) married with children.
mw- i saw it during a break of an advertisement
mw-- I allways zap when there is a comedy show on TV
mw--- MWC is a strike against emancipation of women
!mw I never watched Married With Children
mw? married with children? where should be the problem ?
mw@#%! married with children? It's a problem !
-----cut here -----------------------------------------------------
Of cause there are some mistakes (btw: i am german an my english is not so good) and something could be made better. Why don't you post your suggestions
follow up (to alt.mwc) ?
It's just a first idea i wrote down very quickly. But we can work it out
together to a real cool geek code.

What do you think of discussing a real good code for mwc on alt.mwc
and then send our suggestion to Robert A. Hayden ?
Followup-To: alt.tv.mwc

Sorry to comment, (actually, I'm not) but what does mwc have
to do with geeks. Yes, it is considered by some persons to be
an acceptable form of entertainment (how I do not know), but
what does it have to do with geekiness?
Star Trek and Babylon 5 have neat special effects which geeks
can discuss for hours, at least ST TNG has numerous plot defects
which too can be argued for hours (take the series finalle (sp?)
of ST TNG, for example), and there is a lot of techno-talk which
geeks can laugh at ("We'll stablize the multi sync operation
core, and oscilate the harmonic crystals while we improvise...).
Also, when you tell someone else that you are a ST fan, persons
will often associate you with either geekdom or nerdom.
Jeopardy, well, you can sit there and yell out the answers to
the geeky questions (usually not those under "John Wayne" :)
or, if you're a strange geek (akin to a strange quark, I guess,)
you can call out the _wrong_ answers.
But what is mwc. It is an idiotic sit com. There is no plot,
no special effects, and no script worth talking about...imho.
(I can see myself getting flamed for this one :)
Yes, some persons out there (including geeks) like mwc, but I
don't see any reason why it should in particular be included
in the Geek Code.
Then again, the original post may have been a sarcastic (sp?) stab
at the other posts that are requesting that the Geek Code be
expanded until someday it will become a document describing
every aspect of the persons life from day -1.

Good evening, could you tell MacLean that Roger Styles
from the Foreign Office is here to see him?
: Douglas.
I am not here to flame, but idiotic is just the wrong word. It's THE
most humorous TV show that ever existed. There's a tendency that
upsets me though. While earlier episodes are full of hilarious quotes
and situations, later ones have actors make idiots out of themselves (
especialy noticible in case of Ed O'Neill ). But then again, no matter
how good the show is, it can't possibly maintain the same level for
too long. I believe MWC has no more than 1-2 years left in it. But
once again, no other show can't beat MWC in its prime humor-wise. And
good humor cannot be idiotic.
Sorry for bad style, after all, I failed EN102 for foreigners :)

Married w/Children isn't really very geeky though, is it? The only person
very geeky on the show is Bud, and he really is more of just a loser than
a geek...
