2002 VMAs: The Most Gimmicks In Recent History?

Of the top of my head:
*Avril's neck-tie

*Buckethead (duh!!!)

*The White Stripes' passion for wearing red (I hope they aren't
involved in a street gang).

*The Hives' (I hope I'm getting this right since I would hate to get
them confused w/ The Vines) geeky black polyester shirts & pants to go
along w/ their white neck-ties & loafers.

*Nelly's stratigically placed band-aid under his left-eye.

*Pink's hair...granted, it was jet black w/ some pink at the tips at
the VMAs, but she (just like Kelly Osbourne) has basically earned most
of their notoriety by sporting a pink hair-do. I'm still wondering
why they call her "Pink" in the first place though!

*Justin from "American Idol's" Sideshow Bob-ish hairstyle.

*Christina Aguilera pulling out the psuedo ghetto "hoochie mama" act
while presenting at the podium.

*Jimmy Fallon reminding us that Anthony Kedis from The Red Hot Chilli
Peppers rose to fame while performing w/ his "balls inside of a sock!"

*Jacko's specially designed military inspired get-up to go w/ his
golden baseball catcher shins.

*Steven Van Zandt (Bruce Springsten's guitarist, right hand man, and
semi TV star star due in part to "The Sopranos") and his purple
bandana/head scarf.

*Moby's glasses & bald head (I guess this should be on the list
considering how Eminem ranted & raved about "hitting a man w/ glasses"
at the podium).
