(9/6/02, 5 p.m. ET) -- Many artists are feeling the fallout from the
terrorist attacks on September 11. Disturbed's latest single "Prayer"
is a response to those using the event to further their own causes.
Disturbed vocalist David Draiman told LAUNCH, "The whole incident and
everything surrounding it to me was offensive."
He added, "It continues to offend me, to be honest with you. It
offends me that in trying to look at the Ground Zero site that in
order to get up on the viewing platform that you need to buy a ticket
across town. It continues to offend me that people seem to capitalize
off of one of the worst atrocities that have ever befallen the United
States. There are so many aspects of the whole situation that continue
to offend me."
Disturbed's new album, Believe, is set for release September 17.
"Prayer" is currently at Number Eight on the Billboard Modern Rock
chart. The band is set to hit the road with Korn and TRUSTcompany on
October 8 in Manchester, New Hampshire.
