We have been getting inundated by questions since "Time Chasers" premiered on
MST3K, here are answers to a few of your questions.

No, that was not Lisa Kudrow, but an actress named Vicki Bourn (who was at that
time dating the producer)

The budget for the film was just under $150,000. We shot the film over
weekends in the summer of 1990. Everyone on the film was a first-timer,
including myself. (Hey, I KNOW it shows)

Yes, all of us were excited at the prospect of having out film mocked by MST3K.
Many of the people who worked on the film are fans of the show. We promoted
it as much as we could. This airing meant hundreds of thousands of people
would get to see our little film, and ironically the sale to MST3K finally made
the film break even from a financial standpoint.

Many scenes from the film we're cut out (some of the better ones I think) in
order to make "Time Chasers" fit the time slot. The guys at Best Brains we're
very upfront and excellent to work with. There was even talk about actor Peter
Harrington (Mr pink suit) coming on the show for a cameo.

The cast and crew held a party the night of the premiere and laughed our asses
off watching the show. Most of us have moved onto bigger and better things,
but "Time Chasers" was a great film to learn on. You should be able to find
"Time Chasers" at you local video store in it's un-mocked version. Two later
features that I have directed, "Diamond Run", (starring Richard Lynch) and
"Pressure Point", (starring Steve Railsback and Larry Linville) will be out on
video in Feb. and March respectively from MTI video. Yes, some of my work has
had screenings at Cannes. Even Coppola make some bad films to start with.

Thanks for the mocking! -David Giancola, Writer/Director of "Time Chasers"

David,
It's great to see someone with such a great attitude. For a first time
effort for $150K, it was very good. Nice to see that MST3K made the
film break even.

Here are a few questions:

What were you thinking regarding the set for the CEO's office? It
looks like a stair landing in a public library.

Did you not know of the incompatability of disks between IBM PCs and
Commodore 64s, or just thought most people wouldn't notice it?

Good luck with future, bigger budget projects.

I agree, very good effort on a small budget and limited experience. Just a
couple more questions:

What was the deal with the cab driver? I mean, usually people don't just turn
around and say, "I'm from New Yawk, New Yawk." Did something get cut, or did I
miss something?

What kind of scenes got cut from the MST3K version? Did they explain how Pink
Boy got back to the past to call his boss? (When he's like "I'm going over
<someones> head straight to J.K. Robertson."

Good luck in the future, I don't think many big name directors could have made
a better movie with so little to work with!

Well actually, Coppola is a bad example. He started out fantastic and
has been working backwards ever since.
