Anybody notice that when our heroine was taking water samples (in two
different places) there was a big rock behind her that looked just like
Jabba the Hutt?

-Mike Robinson

Possible bad timing on the royal family and Mother Theresa jokes, too.
(Although they were completely unrelated to current events and in much
better taste than the poor attempts at humour we've been seeing lately.)
My, coincidence can be fun.

Not to mention the show was most likely already completed before the events occured.

BTW, What was with all the Polish jokes in this ep?

I thought that went without saying. :)

There was a sign that two girls passed (the ones who walked down the
street and got picked up by some guy) that said "Look Polish".

But there were about 5 or 6 all together, not just that one.

And I rewound the tape 3 times, and I couldn't see a sign that said that. (Saw a Coka-Cola sign, but
that's about it.)

It isn't the first time that M&TB (or more accurately, the writers)
have latched onto one minor thing in a movie and made it into a
running gag throughout. The writers were likely inspired by the "Look
Polish" sign in one of their first viewings of the movie, and that led
to their making a lot of "Polish" comments later on and in subsequent
viewings. That would explain why a few sneak up _before_ the scene
with the sign.

IMHO, I think they were well within their rights, after that weird
sign. I can't, for the life of me, imagine what that thing could have
been about. I mean, "Look Polish"? The hell? :)

> And I rewound the tape 3 times, and I couldn't see a sign that said that. (Saw a Coka-Cola sign, but

It's the scene right after the two girls come out of the drug store to
wait for some guy that is suppose to come pick them up. They are
standing in front of the sign and you can clearly see it once they
move to start walking home. In any case, you should be able to hear
M&TB mentioning it. Mike's amazed tone of voice when he realized what
the sign read was priceless. It was like one of those
wow-I-can't-believe-that's-what-it-says-but-that's-really-what-it-says
moments.

My sister may have come up with the solution to the mysterious "Look
Polish" sign during Horror of Party Beach. Could the sign mean polish
like shoe polish? Perhaps Look is a brand name or an attention getter
to the fact that that drug store sells some sort of polishing agent.
But even if this is the correct interpretation of the sign, it still
doesn't explain "ALBERT VITTI PERMITEE" (the sign on the bar the drunks
come out of). I think maybe someone just put up a bunch of obscure
signs to make a careful viewer obsess on their meanings.

Too subtle,

Remember a lot of these things are filmed "off shore"
where the weather is nicer, and "talent" (?) is cheaper.

Actually, upon putting my tape in a VCR with a sharpness control, it
looks like the word "kishka" or maybe "kelbasa" is underneath "Look Polish",
half hidden by the weeds. It starts with a "k" at any rate. It's an ad.

No one else mentioned the word that was under "Look Polish" it was
mostly hidden by the bush and the camera angle, so I assumed no one else knew
(or cared, but I posted it anyway.)

I would like to set this whole debate to rest. It did not say "Look
Polish", it said "Look... Oh, sorry, I thought you were Dale"
Glad to help-

Actually, the Albert Vitti Permittee" was a sign on Al Vitti's Steakhouse in Stamford, CT. He lived in Stamford from 1910 - 1977 and owned a steakhouse. It just meant that Albert Vitti was the owner, had a liquor license or was the "permittee" to legally operate that establishment!
