The best couple of this show is and always has been Jane and Michael.
Now, if he would just stop playing games and get serious about him and
Jane being together, it would be great. The worst couple of this show
is Amanda and Kyle. They are just too different. Amanda should dump
him and go back to Peter!

Have Peter and Megan ever been together? I only get to see the episodes on E!
and it's on the 6th season I think. It seems that they would make a decent
couple.

I agree that Michael and Jane are the best couple and that Michael needs
to quit playing games and appreciate that he has gotten another chance
at happiness, but I disagree with Amanda and Kyle being the worst
couple. I actually like them together. To me, the worst couple has to
be Lexi and Peter. Lexi is a two-timing, back stabbing b----. Peter
has had his share of back stabbing etc., but at least he doesn't make it
his daily agenda.

My fave couple has to be Amanda and Peter, third year, before he went
psycho. But pretty much anytime I like them together. I hate her with
Kyle. Kyle is okay, I guess, but I agree with whoever else said they were
too different. They are! One is a college educated business-woman, another
a once-marine bartender/"hash-slinger"/restaurant whatever. I'd say true
love can supersede all that but this is Melrose. Worst couple? There are
so many. Amanda and Michael. Hands down. Thankfully that didn't last
long. Same for Peter and Taylor, but at least I got a chuckle or two out of
them. Taylor and Michael should have gotten together, they are both so
devious, plus the little inspiration comment from Taylor was cute. One
note--you say Peter does not make backstabbing his daily practice? What
show do you watch? It was his every other plotline. What did he do to Bobby
and Alicia? If you didn't say backstab you lose the million dollars. Lexi,
my very most favorite at this point in time, never did it, ever, until life
screwed her over so much she decided it didn't feel good anymore. In
Melrose it's dog-eat-dog. You either lie, cheat, or backstab, or get it
done to you. Peter is a liar, big-time, way more than Lexi has ever been,
and a cheat, but at least not a coward and now neither is she. If you hate
Lexi because of her dishonest ways, you must also hate Amanda because that
is exactly how she got her footing on MP. Jesus! What is lying to your
boss WHILE HE'S SICK then taking his company out from under him? If that's
not backstabbing at it's highest then my official Webster's dictionary is a
liar and a cheat too. Anyhow, that's what Melrose is for. And to
differentiate between Peter and Lexi, saying Peter is some sort of golden
boy compared to her is ridiculous. At least she never tried to kill a
former lover while replacing them with some bonehead secretary. She's an
amateur compared to him but learning fast (go Lex!). Anyhow, just some late
night rambling and ranting, nothing personal.

It's always more acceptable for a man to behave this way than a woman! If a
woman does it, she's a conniving, backstabbing whore, but if a guy does it he is
shrewd, studly and should be praised.

Peter's certainly done his share of backstabbing (literally, in the case of
Amanda), but he can also be incredibly decent and caring at times. He helped
Kimberly through her mental illness and he's tried to save Michael from himself
numerous times. The only thing he did to Lexi was realize that he didn't love
her - and sometimes that happens. He didn't know when he was telling her that
she'd been hit with her father's tax fraud. Peter's one of my favorite
characters precisely because he is so complex - you don't know quite what he's
going to do in a given situation.

>Peter's certainly done his share of backstabbing (literally, in the case of
Amanda), but he can also be incredibly decent and caring at times. <
True.
He does have this Jeckyll and Hyde thing going. But Lexi has said she used
to be the "nurturing wife" before Coop left her for Cold Coma Kimberly. And
she was pretty nice to Peter before they broke up.

>He helped Kimberly
through her mental illness and he's tried to save Michael from himself
numerous times. <
I'm still amazed after all the blunders Michael's pulled
that Peter hasn't gotten the heck out of there into a business partnership
he deserves. Don't you think he could be so much farther ahead in his
career and simply happier if chief freak Michael weren't dragging him down?
I'm watching the E!-peats now and they're in the 6th season all with the
glove and Peter trying to get his chief of staff job back. Would the
evil,"take no crap" Peter from season 3 put up with that? Nah. But it's
okay with me actually. Any scene with Michael and Peter together is
hilarious. Just add some Sydney and you've got a fine mix. Besides, who
leads a healthy life on Melrose? Peter should be mired down with Michael
forever, then he'll always be on Melrose, and we'll always have their funny
funny scenes. (Remember the forest/camping scene back in march when Peter
was trying to "get away"? That was great. I'm still waiting for Peter to
freak and throw Michael through another glass window or two.)

>The only
thing he did to Lexi was realize that he didn't love her - and sometimes
that happens.<
In real life, sometimes that happens. On MP, the rate is
increased to about 4 times a day. Amanda as landlord should make hardhats
mandatory. You never know when the bomb is going to drop. Today you could
be the lucky guy/girl who gets dumped for a former lover/wife/husband.

>
He didn't know when he was telling her that she'd been hit with her father's
tax fraud.<
Nah, but those are compounding bummers. Good thing Lexi's no
Kimberly or there'd be one more redhead fooling around with bomb switches.
Isn't seducing a magazine editor a healthier way to deal with personal
demons? That's why I'm giving Lexi a break for the time being. The girl's
had problems! She's just going through her "I hate the world" phase (which I
hope lasts a while, because I am loving the new, improved Ultra Lexi.)

>
Peter's one of my favorite characters precisely because he is so complex -
you don't know quite what he's going to do in a given situation.<
I agree.
He is definitely one of the most interesting and enjoyable characters on the
show. And he's actually funny. Every time he derides Michael it's a hoot.
Plus, you can't beat the way he keeps his cool, letting other people screw
up first. "Does that mean I win the game?" Great line. Jack Wagner said
once his only fans are his family. Not true!

Wolfie, so true, so true. What a shame. Clever little manipulations and
power plays are praiseworthy on MP no matter where they come from. At least
the originator of such is proving they have brains and/or guts. (Sigh)
Death to bigots I say! Down with gay-bashers, sexist jerks both male and
female, religious hypocrites and zealouts, racist scum of all types and
other such human refuse who try to keep down one segment or another of the
population, especially when they have the gall to site the Bible or other
respected "right" source as an alibi. I also find it strange that on MP
which is supposed to be a "chick show" often enough many male characters
will profit outright at the expense of some female ones. And then when a
power-hungry female character whose name is not Amanda tries to even the
score, she gets berated on all sides not just by the characters, but by the
FANS. Fair this is not!! [[Go Lexi, before they turn you back into a
losing, wimpy, whining weakling like many have been before. Heed the Alison
warning and Drink Not on important business meetings. Grab as much success
at the expense of others now, lest they turn you back into a doormat! (I
would say the fastest and easiest way to succeed in a business you know
nothing of is to enlist the help of an expert. Say Amanda? Instead of
fighting with her, learn from her? Eh, I guess your pride couldn't stand
that. But don't make the Craig mistake. Go for the kill too soon and
she'll come back and clean you out.)]]

Peter has definitely done his share of bad things on Melrose. Let's take a
look:
-Took over D&D
-Cheated on Amanda (w/Caitlin Mills)
-Tried to kill Amanda
-Tried to kill Michael
-Kidnapped Amanda
-Dumped Lexi
-Stole Taylor from Kyle
-Cheated on Amanda again
-Blackmailed Irene Shulman for the Chief of Staff position
-Poisoned Nick and stole the pictures
-Set up Bobby Parezi
-Used Alycia to make Amanda jealous

And I am sure there is a lot I forgot too!

I agree with the rest of your post though.
Every character has a dark and checkered past, that makes Melrose. To
dispute who is a little bit nicer than whom is semantics. They can all be

How in the world can you say you like Jane and Michael together. I'm not
saying you're wrong, but in my opinion, Michael drags Jane down a lot. I think
this is the reason everyone is hating the "new" Jane. If they break up I think
it will be better for both of them. Michael can stop acting stupid and Jane
can...well, I don't know what Jane can do. And could the reason everyone hates
Lexi is because she such a bitch? I LOVE the fact that Lexi is a way bigger

So, time for question number two: Is All Things Melrose gone forever or will you
resurrect it in some way? I understand if you don't have time to update it or don't
think that the show is funny enough to dedicate a site to anymore, (I've become a
lot more patient with people who quit updating their websites in the past year) but
some of the stuff on that site was classic and deserves to be archived somewhere
where the general public can find it.
