I'm not completely sure, though I think she moved to Bosnia.
Oh, poor Daphne...like so many other misguided Melrose actors, she decided to
pursue sitcom life. I'm still waiting. Other than that, I think she moved to
Bosnia.

I guess Daphne's chances of landing a Bosnian sitcom are about
the same as getting one in the US. Good luck to her!

She did go to Bosnia, sometime in early season 5. But this was not the
original queestion. The original question was why was the character
written out?
LOL, the nerve of THEM to say that. :-) These are the exact same people
who brought worthless Kook into the storyline. And what has Kook
accomplished on this show thus far?? Nothing IMO but being annoying. I
never particularly liked Jo, but If I had to choose between her and Kook
to be on MP, I would definately choose her.

A very smart thing to do.

Jo and Daphne Z. left after the finale of Season 4. Jo was left to dither at
LAX, torn between O'Malley and life at MP. It was her cliffhanger. When the
Season 5 premiere aired, Jo and Daphne were gone -- as in not seen, at all.
Matt explained to an irate Amanda that Jo's mailbox was not cleaned out because
Jo had run off to Bosnia with O'Malley ("Well, she's not getting her deposit
back," Amanda bitches) , thus wrapping up her cliffhanger.
From what I understand, there's very little mystery and nastiness involving
Daphne Zuniga's departure, unlike the contract wars with Laura Leighton and
Grant Show's general distaste with things after Season 3 (he wanted to be
written out, so I hear, killed off in the fall with Jess -- but was persuaded
to stay...or something?) . Daphne explained in a number of interviews that she
felt the character had simply run its natural course, and she and the writers
came to a mutual agreement to write the character of Jo Reynolds out. Nuff
said.
