Reading through the comments on that page, I thought this guy summed
up how I feel about the idea of an "updated" CGI Max rather well.

I'd love Max Headroom back - or heck, how about releasing his ABC
show on DVD? That was truly ahead of its time. HOWEVER, there is
no point of bringing back a CGI Max. It has to be Frewer in
makeup - otherwise the satire is rather lost, IMO.

Spot on, I think.

Ideally I'd like to see the ABC series repeated on Channel 4 or one of the
Freeview channels. This is, however, very unlikely. It also seems the rights
holder has no interest in releasing the shows on DVD which is a great shame.
Why the hell did they buy the rights to the ABC series if they're not going
to market it in some way!

It's just junk in a bin that WB got from Lorimar's dusty warehouse. I think
that besides some rights problems, the short run series just isn't seen as
having enough value to go through all that would have to be gone through to
get it to a DVD release.

I am working on it.

It adds new meaning to "He escaped into the system."

The real Max is in there somewhere. But does he know we're still out
here though? :(
