Clearly there is a demand for it, so would someone like to compile (or
help compile) a list of Col. Flagg quotes?
It would be appreciated by all!
OK:
Hawkeye: Why don't we just use the atomic bomb?
Flagg: Hey, don't try to make friends with me.

Sorry, but I can't remember the context. Not that a quote like
that is enhanced greatly by its context.

Ummm ... this was an episode where an old friend of Trapper's came to the
4077th to do some intelligence work, and Flagg was there too, and the two
of them were sort of investigating around each other and not trusting
each other. That's what the telegram involved. Hawkeye and Trap decided
to set Frank up, convincing one of them that Frank was a Communist and one
that Frank was a Fascist.
It didn't begin with "Mares eat oats" though ... what I can remember
is:
Mary had a little lamb, and I'll be home for Christmas. My dog has fleas.
(aside to Radar "And sign it") Your loving son, Queen Victoria.

just thought we needed the rest of the telegram
paul
I think the telegram went something like this:
Mary had a little lamb. STOP
My dog has fleas. STOP
Maresy dotes and dosey dotes and I'll be home for Christmas
Signed your loving son,
Queen Victoria
When Radar reported this back to the swamp, Capt. Stone (not his real name)
said "He knows I'm here" Hawkeye or Trap says "Why?" And Stone says "I'm
Mary".

Ah, but you left out half of it:
"I'm *really* with the CID. I just tell people I'm with
the CIA so they'll think I'm in the CIC."
(I think *that* was the way he said it. Of course, he said
it at *least* twice, changing the order of acronyms... :-)
