I f mind remembers correctly, that is Parnell Roberts. He was one of the
orginal sons on Bonanza, but left the show early on.

Trapper John, M.D. does air on FX @ 6AM on SAT and SUN. We've been
airing them out of order for awhile now. I don't know when programming
will start over from the beginning.

Doesn't it also air on Odyssey, I'm not sure when, but I caught it on Odyssey
on a Saturday afternoon (last week) at 5 in the afternoon...
If you've ever seen the first ep/pilot for Trapper John, there are
some -very- strong ties to M*A*S*H and every so often, there are things
referred to from Korea. Not many though.
I, for one, liked Trapper John and think the writers of it did an excellent
job seperating it from M*A*S*H
Was Gene Reynolds or anyone else from MASH involved in the production of
"Trapper"?

I agree with that, mainly because of the familiar face of Wayne Rogers.
I've always wondered why he didn't play in "Trapper John M.D.", as he
played a similar role in "House Calls" anyway?
I don't remember if "House Calls" came before "Trapper John", but maybe he
was already committed to "House Calls". Besides, he would have looked too
young to play Trapper in his 50's/60's.

The first telecast of "Trapper John M.D" was on September 23, 1979 and the
first of "House Calls" was on December 17, 1979. Both shows were produced
by CBS and ran until September 4 1986 and September 13, 1982 respectivally.
Wayne Rogers were born in 1933, making him 46 in 1979, so - bearing in
mind that this is strictly hypothetical - it could have worked.

I remember reading somewhere that Wayne Rogers wasn't very happy when he
left M*A*S*H, so it's probable that he didn't *want* to play the role
again.
