Wasn't that episode, "George"?
No... This was the episode where the small village of Taidon (Sp?) got
shelled by Americans and Hawkeye and Trapper were filing a report...
I don't think so. In 'George' the boys want Frank *not* to sign something.
I think it's 'For The Good Of The Outfit'.

"Man, a couple of pullies in the right place, and they could halve their
labor."
Is that the one where Franks says(within ear shot of Hotlips)... "I think
I'll ask (some new young nurse) out on a date." Margaret says, "Isn't
she a little young for you, Frank?" To which Frank returns with, "I don't
know... I thought a little youth might be nice for a change." Margaret
quickly leaves with her dignity dented, while Frank says to Hawk and BJ,
"I sure got her with that one."(laughs)
Hawkeye says something like, "I think the convoy took a direct hit."
Later Hotlips says to Hawkeye..."I thought you didn't give two hoots for
Frank Burns." Hawkeye..."It's only one hoot and I just started."
Please don't hold me to exact wording. I loved that little bit of
support, that the "guys" were giving Frank.

Yes. That's right!
Dear Frank, dad as not your father, love Mom.
Yep, that's the ep.

I believe that you are correct, now that I think about it.

That's right.
One other time I recall being on Frank's side, was when Margaret was
flying off with Donald P. in the chopper(newlyweds)... leaving Frank
behind to say goodbye to Margaret, all alone. I felt really sad for him
then.
Frank wasn't all bad. It may have been a small one... but he did have a
heart.

My impression is that he was less concerned with having mined Frank out
than he was with having got typecast. And I gather he was right.
