(In order of most to least annoying)

1. B.J. - I suppose the chicks like him, 'cause he's always so moral and
condescending and compassionate (apparently handsome too), but to a guy like
me he's just a big wimp.

2. Hawkeye - Because he couldn't tolerate the opinions of people who
disagreed with him, even when they were right. (You can just tell by the
looks in his eyes he wanted to choke some of the Conservatives on the show)

3. Margaret - Whenever she'd get in an emotional outburst and usually take
a swat at Radar. What did Radar ever do to her?

4. Potter - For being to lenient and understanding on the 4077. Especially
since he looked the kind of guy that would be an old grump. Who made him
the father figure? That's what his character should've been.

5. Frank - For being such an asshole, but occasionally he was right and he
would never get credit for it.

All the other characters don't piss me off. I like Trapper and Henry the
most. Father Mulcahy, Radar, Winchester and Klinger kick butt.

i just saw the episode where Potter paints a portrait of the main
characters. Charles wants to kill BJ because of his endless stories and
letters from Peg about Aaron. Charles, i feel your pain!

Hawkeye was the franchise, the marquee player. No Hawkeye, no M*A*S*H.
Hawkeye had convictions.

Radar was an annoying twerp who refused to grow up. He might as well have
been a puppy. i quite liked the Margaret character, especially post-Frank.
She was complex and interesting. Radar was immature and never really
developed. Margaret grew as the show went on, she was an adult dealing with
many adult problems. Radar was a pest, a bunny rabbit raising weirdo whose
vocabulary consisted of eight words--Golly, jee, aw shucks, come, on, you
guys

At times the Potter character could be annoying and simplistic. The "Horse
Pucky" episodes often induce eye-rolling and groaning. Other times, Potter
was captivating. When he was comforting the wounded, he was great. The
episode where Potter foils a suicide by "gassing" him is riveting.

Frank was a TREMENDOUS character, and Larry Linville was outstanding as
Frank. Frank was SUPPOSED to be annoying!

Klinger was outstanding when he was dressing in women's clothes. Klinger
later turned into Radar Jr., and that was really annoying. Jamie Farr did a
great job, but it was cheap, lazy and annoying to turn Klinger into a
Radar-esque puppy dog. i find Winchester similar to Margaret in many
respects.

Radar was great in the early years. Sure, he was naive, but he was also part
of the Hawkeye/Trapper team. He had no problems being involved in their
pranks and scams, and sometimes even initiated them. In the later years, if
he was asked to participate in some underhanded scheme of Hawk/BJ's, his
usual reply was: "Oh, golly gee, I can't do that, I'll get in trouble".

Klinger's transformation is probably one of my biggest disappointments. He
was great in the early years because he basically didn't care about anyone
but himself. Once he started to form a "relationship" with the other
characters, it was all downhill. Did you ever notice how Farr went from
delivering his lines as a street-smart kid who would do anything to get out,
to sounding like he is on a Broadway stage doing a one man show? Whenever he
has a so-called clever line in the later years, he puts on this phony
Broadway type accent, that, I guess, is supposed to be funny. I just cringe.

LMAO! That's the best description of later-Klinger I've read so far.

Did you ask Dr. Honeycutt's permission before giving his child a sex
change? :)

Well, Hawkeye shouldn't have been the marquee player. Wayne Rogers left
because he expected Trapper to be sort of the co-lead with Hawkeye. Too bad
the writers didn't go with that idea.

Oh I fugured as much, I was only kidding.

Interesting enough, I had the closed captioning on during "Good-bye Radar,
part Two" once and when B.J. was saying good-bye to Radar and reminds him
to give a kiss to Peg and Erin for him, the captions spell it Aaron. Then
in the next episode, "Period of Adjustment" it's corrected to Erin.

To Erin is human, to forgive divine.

Man, that is the type of bad line B.J was saying in the final years. I
agree, B.J was annoying as hell. I always preferred Trapper . Trapper was a
man's man. B.J was way too soft. In the later years, all of the characters
were turned into wimps. Big piles of Mush. Not one character got better as
the show progressed into the final years. By the time his run ended on the
show, Radar might as well have been wearing diapers, drooling and sucking his
thumb. The characters brains had fallen out of his backside by that time.

As B.J. (probably) would've said: "To Erin is human".

MASH bulletin boards or something ...
