Has anyone else noticed that the muppet characters resemble the MASH
characters?

Hawkeye - Kermit
Margaret - Miss Piggy
Trapper - Animal
BJ - Fozzie Bear
Potter - Waldo
Radar - Scooter
Winchester - Rowlf
Klinger - Gonzo
Col Flagg - Sam the Eagle
Rizzo - Rizzo
Igor - Swedish Chef

I just can't think of one for Frank and Henry. I haven't seen the Muppets
for years. Any suggestions?

Cheers!
Kristin

Don't you mean Rainbow Bridge? :-)

It often has been reported that Miss Piggy's appearance was in fact
modelled after Loretta, so the similarity would not be coincidental.
I guess Loretta found it flattering, since the two divas shared the
stage on at least a couple of occasions. Not sure about the others,
though. Certainly Kermit was never as rakish, angry, arrogant or
verbose as Hawkeye. Might have been interesting if he were.

personality wise, I would switch Hawkeye and BJ -- with BJ as Kermit and
Hawkeye as Fozzy Bear.

hmmm ... connecting the muppets to the mashketeers... interesting!

"Peace" means more than just "anti-war." It summarizes in a word the
concepts of economic and environmental justice, civil rights,
equality, democracy and compassion.

Years ago on the original "Hollywood Squares" there was a question about
whether or not Miss Piggy was modeled after Loretta Swit. It just so
happened that Loretta was on the panel that week so after the contestant
agreed or disagreed with whoever had the question, Peter Marshall asked
Loretta to confirm that it was true and she did.

Did you ever notice that whenever Loretta's hairstyle changed, Miss
Piggy's hair changed, too? :-)

I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but The Rainbow Connection is a song
that was done by Kermit the Frog in one of the Muppet movies. Rainbow Bridge
is a whole different problem, being coordinates for a planet where Jack L.
Chalker's Quintara Marathon trilogy started.

One of the funniest episodes of "The Muppet Show" was where Loretta guest
starred. Kermit got pissed at Piggy and fired her, so Loretta took her place
on "Pigs in Space", complete with pig nose. It was hilarious.

And how you equate Rowlf with Charles is beyond me.

Charles would have to be Sam the Eagle! :-)
Same kind of arrogance.

I'd actually pick Sam the Eagle as a closer resemblance to CEWIII than
Colonel Flagg. Crazy Larry with the fish boomerangs would be my
choice for Colonel Flagg.

How 'bout....

Henry - Grover
(had to "get to Sesame St." for that one.

About Kermit = Hawkeye, I can hear him singing, "It's not easy wearing
green..." ;o)

The only Muppet/Mash characters that remind me of each other are "Hot Lips"
and Miss Piggy.

I would like to see Henry Blake en Col.Potter as the two old men on the
balcony. I think they would make a pretty amusing couple together there!

I think you would have to be right, Shandarose. Because Elsig certainly
had his hand in things at MASH. ;)

It's an honor being compared to Jim. We once considered doing a Broadway
musical together. Wish we had. We were neighbors in London. He gave me a
small ivory netske - a white rabbit - which l've kept on the top of my desk for
years - and so l'm reminded of hiom every time l sit dow to work.
