The MASH cast images appear to have been taken on the set
of "the Time Capsule" episode (1983)

and If you use the actors names as a search topic, you get many more photos
of them in and out of charactor.
The guy is the 1st pic looks like Captain Casey / Sergeant Schwartz.
Yep these are real people in a real war, in a real MASH
it does look as though the TV show did get it pretty close..

and two different types of helicopter.
the serial number on this one.
according the records was written off in 1950
and apparently rebuilt with an updated serial

the LIFE archive right now have 2 million photos, many are mislabeled
misplaced or not labeled at all. so you have to search.
I found this image set by researching ambulance trains.
the 8063rd sign did,nt show up until I had already gone through
about 150 images.
the 1983 cast photos did,nt show until I had gone to the 20th page..
the more I look , the more I find...

We had that episode today on Channel 7 in Sydney, Aust. Klinger in his
wedding dress, Frank getting drunk after an argument with Hot Lips...
AND If I am not mistaken, the Casey/Schwartz episode was inspired by the
real life Fred Demara (The Great Impostor)
