Does he really have that horrible sounding sneeze? I think I might
shoot him if I had to hear that anytime he got the sniffles or
hayfever.

I'd like to shoot Alda on general principle, but it wasn't until I saw
the first few minutes of that awful episode that I realized how
detestable this show became after the 2nd season.

I believe the whole sneeze was just made up... That's why at the end
of the episode, Sydney comments that you should never fall for that
old fake sneezing trick...

I don't hate the episode, generally speaking... but I hate the scene
and the line "he pushed me!" (Hawkeye Cries aloud and moves around)

I hate that scene...

Alan Alda, like Hawkeye, hates guns. By shoot him you should mean with a
camera. Alda (with some others) took a big hand in getting america away
from guns. Very good.

That was one of THE worst episodes ever. I can't even watch it... It
ranks right up there with the "Hawkeye" episode where his jeep
overturns and it's just one big long Alan Alda monologue...ugh...

I'm not all that keen on the finale either -- I think it's another
example of poor acting by Alda. Is it me or does it seem really
"contrived" whenever he has to cry or get really emotional? I found
the scene about the chicken/baby in the back of the bus and his
recounting of it extremely uncomfortable and hard to watch.

yea but what about his hives? its kinda hard to make those up unless you
have an ample supply of makeup available, which I'm sure Hawkeye didn't
have unless he borrowed some of Klingers !

While I agree season 3 is a tiny bit more serious than 1 or 2, I do
love it...and consider season's 1 through 3 to be MASH at it's
zenith.Season 4 is just as good, it's just that the chemistry between
Hawkeye and BJ made it a slightly different show. And while I like
much of the other seasons, don't get me started on that sneezing
fiasco.
But as for season 3....Big Mac? Alcoholics Unanimous? The only
thing I don't love about season 3 is that I know Henry's about to meet
his maker and Trapper goes home.

I really also didn't enjoy the "chicken in the bus" scenes with Hawkeye.
Alda did a terrible job of that. Wasn't any where near belivable. Real
shame, I mean, they coulda made a whiz bang of a final episode. But..... I'm
disappointed.

Hey Kat, long time no type!

I agree with you about AA's acting in general, I think it's a little
bit overcooked and self-indulgent at times.

Best wishes from England

Not at all.

Guns (and weapons in general) are how you remind government of its place
when it starts getting uppity and says it's more important than you.
